Hello List, I've been pondering site performance and optimization lately as I have been hearing more and more about it, particularly as it relates to RWD (Responsive Web Design).
While partially appropriate for this list, I apologize none the less for it's wide scope and request right up front that responses that are off topic for CSS-D be *off-list*. I am writing to this list because after much searching, and finding only some of the info I need, this list has member that are the smartest devs I know of (and I mean that) and that I have a decent chance of getting a reply from. What I am after are good easy to understand resources or clear easy to understand samples/instruction for how to go about increasing site performance. How best to deal with large style sheets, multiple styles sheets as well as things like loading scripts only when needed (like on desktop only,etc.). I've read many things about modernizr and yepnope but have yet to find easy to understand examples of how to actually use either of these to control when to load a script - like "load this script ONLY if screen width is above 800px" - for example. AGAIN, unless your reply will benefit CSS-D, please send it off-list. Thanks for your time, and my apologies to list-mom for borderline subject matter. -- Tom Livingston | Senior Front-End Developer | Media Logic | ph: 518.456.3015x231 | fx: 518.456.4279 | mlinc.com ______________________________________________________________________ css-discuss [css-d@lists.css-discuss.org] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ List policies -- http://css-discuss.org/policies.html Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/
