Ok, sorry if this is spam, It has become clear to me what the..
<style type="text/css">
.clear {
clear:both;
}
<style>
<div class="clear"></div>
..does now.
For anyone else having trouble deciphering what this is and how to implement,
think of it like this.
We all have that situation where a wrapper div doesn't wrap the contents and
the contents flow past the bottom of the wrapper div.
Very unpleasant to say the least.
Well, at the end of the content code (inside the wrapper div) is where this
<div class="clear"></div> or <p class="clear"> or <br class="clear" />
(whatever class="clear") goes and it keeps your content from flowing outside
your wrapper div if you have any floats or special layout stuff on the contents
preceding. There are many other implementations and reasonings for using this
I'm sure, but this one turned the light switch for me.
Hope this helps the novice.. :)
Best,
Karl DeSaulniers
