Hi Brandtley -

that totally fixed it! by adding the: object { visibility: visible !
important; } to the page itself.

i had tried making a new page and deleting the swf and re-inserting it
- and dreamweaver did the same thing - generated the object tag - but
i just couldn't get to the object tag to revise it.

i thank you so much for taking the time to help! It was driving me
crazy....;-)

Thanks again!!!

It's probably being rendered on-the-fly, but where I saw this was a
style="..." attribute on the physical<object> tag.

You could try adding that to the physical<object> tag yourself, OR
place an object selector in your css file and set something like this.

object { visibility: visible !important; }

This should override anything the browser tries and would prob help your
situation. Post back if that helped or not.

Hi Brandtley,
the only way i can see that is in dreamweaver by hitting the live code
view - but in the css and embed code there is no visbility:hidden. Any
ideas on how to change that?
i can't find where to specify that..
thanks for your help!!

The flash file works just fine. However for one reason or another, your
flash object tag has style="visibility: hidden" set and that is
preventing it from showing. I just debugged it in IE9 under
compatibility modes for IE7-8 and that seemed to fix it.

i have a site that i am using a jquery background image stretcher on -
it works great except for one page which has a flash movie in the
center box.
I have no problem on browsers except for IE - 7 and 8 (i think it
displays on 9 - but i am relying on browsershots)
the background has a z-index of 1 and the flash has a z-index of 10 --
nothing i am trying is working!
does anyone have any ideas???
here's the link:http://www.mimeticus.com/windex.html
thanks!
