No I've tried these various display variations: block, inline-block, inline, run-in
my html is <h3>Text that needs to be truncated here</h3> <ul class="actions"> <li>action 1</li> </ul> I can of course change the html but at that point I might decide just to truncate on the server because in the old framework from which we are porting we truncated on the server. I don't want to try to restructure markup and then run into a cascading (no pun intended) list of changes to be implemented.
