Pretty sure it's been said but I figure the easiest way would be to make it percentage based. Though sometimes that seems to make it look a little icky when it shrinks because it tends to shrink everything, making the text look messy. That's just my two cents. I would just accept it, make it a set width so it at least doesn't warp the rest of the page, and understand that some people are going to just have to scroll to look at it or see it much smaller if their screen is big.
