Version 1.50.1 contains many new features.
Interior image placement commands have been improved.
A new sandbox mode allows the use of packages that would otherwise be
prohibited.
Interior images and color cover artwork can be processed by cross-platform
scripts.
The TeX code and user HTML documentation have been cleaned and improved.
If you are in the middle of working on a document using novel, and you
find that your layout has changed with this new version, the documentation
provides the solution.
