TexShare members -

This is a reminder that netLibrary makes MARC records for the TexShare ebook
collection available to libraries free of charge from the netLibrary web
site. This offer is still available. I encourage all
libraries that want to add the MARC records for the TexShare ebook
collection to their online catalogs to consider downloading the free
version.
(You now have 24x7 availaility of the records by
going to netLibrary.) Information about getting MARC records for the
TexShare ebooks is at
http://www.texshare.edu/programs/academicdb/marc/marcrecords.html.

If you are still debating the value of adding the MARC records to your
catalogs, here is some information that Houston Public Library was willing
to share - When Houston Public Library completed it's first month (October
2001) of having the 18,000+ State Library e-books in it's catalog, the
results were a 78% increase in use over October 2000 and a 54% increase in
use over the highest monthly use they ever had. The MARC records do make a
difference.
