At TLA Conference on Thursday, April 25, from 2 to 3:50, there will be a forum on the needs of libraries and how TIF might meet them. TIF has funded a needs assessment by the UNT library school; the researchers will make a presentation of their findings to date and solicit responses from the librarians present. The UNT study will be used by the TIF Library Working Group and the TIF Board to allocate funding for libraries in FY 2003. Dirk Jameson, the new TIF director, intends to be at the forum. There will also be a presentation Thursday from 12 to 1:50 on Community Networks. Betty Thompson of the Taylor library is one of the panelists.
