TAMU-College Station is hosting Freedom Beyond Borders: Networking
Information, the 2003 Transborder Library Forum (FORO) March 28-30 in
College Station, Texas.  It is a pre-conference to TLA.  We are
seeking
persons to give papers and poster sessions.  Please consider sharing
your great projects, programs and services to the border population,
cultural programs, bilingual users, interlibrary loan, etc. as well as
attend the conference (only the second time to be held in Texas!).  A
complete list of suggested topics is contained in the Call for
Participation.  The deadline for abstract submission has been extended

the following in your institution/organization.  Agradecemos su

Texas A&M University Libraries will host Freedom Beyond Borders:
Networking Information, the 2003 Transborder Library Forum (FORO) March
28-30 in College Station, Texas. FORO, a volunteer organization of
library professionals, provides a venue for the cooperative exchange of
ideas and discussions of experiences and efforts concerning library
services in the shared border regions of the United States, Mexico, and
Canada. 

The 2003 Transborder Library Forum (FORO) Program Planning Committee
invites original proposals for papers, workshops, round tables, and
poster sessions that support this year's theme and FORO objectives, as
well as volunteers to moderate plenary and concurrent Sessions for the
FORO.  The call for papers document is available on the Texas A&M
University Libraries FORO web site at http://library.tamu.edu/FORO/
Participants may be librarians, library staff, or those involved in the
provision of border information services.  

Pre-registration for the conference is required.  Information on
registration, hotels and other conference arrangements will be available
soon on the FORO web site listed above.    Interested individuals may

las Fronteras: Redes Internacionales de Informaci�n se celebrar� el
28-30 de marzo del a�o 2003 en la Universidad de Texas A&M, College
Station, TX, como preconferencia al Reuni�n de la Asociaci�n de
Bibliotecarios del Estado de Texas, Houston el 1-3 de abril.   El FORO
es una agrupaci�n informal de bibliotecarios para intercambiar ideas y
discusiones relativas a esfuerzos y experiencias en la promoci�n de
servicios de informaci�n en regiones fronterizas de los Estados Unidos,
M�xico y Canad�.  Cordialmente extendemos la bienvenida a su amistad y
participaci�n en las dos conferencias, mientras juntos construimos redes
para compartir nuestros recursos inform�ticos, por medio de nuevas
tecnolog�as innovadoras y relaciones colegiales.   

El FORO 2003 tiene el placer de extender una invitaci�n cordial a la
comunidad bibliotecaria y a las personas vinculadas con procesos y
servicios de informaci�n que remitan trabajos con contenido relativo a
cualquiera de los temas a 
desarrollar en la conferencia. La intenci�n es proporcionar un programa
completo de la m�xima calidad dada la importancia de la materia.   El
Comit� del Programa contemplar� diversos tipos de sesiones de trabajo:
desde las presentaciones tradicionales en forma oral o de poster, a
formatos m�s interactivos como talleres y mesas redondas.   Igualmente
se invita a moderadores para mediar las paneles y mesas redondas.  Para
