The National Endowment for the Humanities is offering a library-specific
funding initiative called the Small Grants to Libraries: "Louisa May
Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women - Library Outreach Programs."  Up
to $2,500 is available to bring library programs associated with Louisa
May Alcott to public, academic, and special libraries with IRS 501(c)(3)
tax-exempt status, as well as from state and local governmental
agencies. For more information about eligibility requirements, visit

July 30, 2010.

The Texas Commission on the Arts provides funding to support library
programs that involve the arts. This primarily comprises grants for
performers coming to the library through Arts Respond Performance
Support grants that range from just over $100 to $1500, though there may
be other opportunities for funding available. Proposals for the last

Ashoka is accepting proposals for its Strong Communities: Engaging
Citizens, Strengthening Place, Inspiring Change program. Grants of up to
$5,000 will support innovative projects and ideas that engage citizens
to steer change and build strong communities. They are looking for out
of the box ideas and are using social media and a strong web presence
for proposal review and final grant determination.
