The National Endowment for the Humanities is offering a library-specific funding initiative called the Small Grants to Libraries: "Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women - Library Outreach Programs." Up to $2,500 is available to bring library programs associated with Louisa May Alcott to public, academic, and special libraries with IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, as well as from state and local governmental agencies. For more information about eligibility requirements, visit http://neh.gov/grants/guidelines/SGL_Alcott.html <http://neh.gov/grants/guidelines/SGL_Alcott.html> Proposals are due July 30, 2010. The Texas Commission on the Arts provides funding to support library programs that involve the arts. This primarily comprises grants for performers coming to the library through Arts Respond Performance Support grants that range from just over $100 to $1500, though there may be other opportunities for funding available. Proposals for the last quarter of 2010 are due August 1, 2010. http://www.arts.state.tx.us/ <http://www.arts.state.tx.us/> Ashoka is accepting proposals for its Strong Communities: Engaging Citizens, Strengthening Place, Inspiring Change program. Grants of up to $5,000 will support innovative projects and ideas that engage citizens to steer change and build strong communities. They are looking for out of the box ideas and are using social media and a strong web presence for proposal review and final grant determination. http://www.changemakers.com/en-us/strongcommunities <http://www.changemakers.com/en-us/strongcommunities> Proposals are due August 11, 2010.
