I'd have to go along with both of these analyses, but which one to choose
as a focus depends on how much one would want to defend the latter
contention in view of state's rights despite the racist implications.
Depending on the professor, this could be a literary black hole.
Better chose the story of Jesus (unless your prof. is inordinately secular
:-)). One could argue that Judas was conned.
