Did you know that the Emancipation proclamation freed no one, it did
not cover the northern states, they still could have slaves, while in the
South the slaves were freed. How can a government, free slaves of
another government. They did secede, in fact the United States recognized
this when each southern state had to reapply for admission to the union.
The southern states were also not recognized as states when the 14th amendment
was added, they were conveniently excluded.

When southern blacks with a number of participating whites began the freedom bus rides and sin-ins during the 1950s and 1960s, they were a threat to most of the quaint gentle white folk of the South.
----Yes they were, some people, a lot of them were transported into those areas to demonstrate,...you got to look, read between the lines. I rememer when I ran for public office I said something,, but what I said was cut and pasted so it said something else...or they only quoted me half way. If you think you can depend on the news media for accurate reporting you are greatly mistaken.
That's why so many of the marchers and bus riders and
sit-in people were beaten,

----The north passed laws forbidding blacks to live in their community or state, I believe the north may have discriminated more, but was not reported as much. I see a lot of animosity up here today, and I compare it with those I see working together/playing together in harmony.

---Integration of the schools, forced was a detriment to both races, their cultures were affected, and they no longer knew who they were, ancestors, the raising was given to the schools, and community based schools virtually destroyed, I see no good in that. Kids are not directed, they don't have anything to connect to...cultures, heritages, are being lost.
---Continued/Increase government is a threat to us all. I have always beleived in states rights, who knows better than the folks in the community the unique conditions and what is right for them. You can not govern efficiently if you don't know this...I know schools that have to spend money on certain supplies, if they don't they don't get continued aid, and these materials are being stock piled....one place they rented a wharehouse, and the materials in it are dated back 20 years. Federal governmet involvement is efficent as well as threatening. I wonder if this is what my Union ancestors fought for...I think not !!
