There has been some discussion among law researchers that indicates
that the gold fringe on the US flag indicates martial law rule. If you
recall the old westerns when the US cavalry showed up they all had gold
braids on the trumpet, flag, and on the shoulders. We know for certain
that they were under martial law, for the federal government was
governing the territories directly previous to them entering as states.
I don't know what kind of robe Rehnquist is wearing. Could someone
describe it and the diffences between it and his normal robe? It may be
that the robes they normally wear signify a different venue then what is
taking place now. Venue is very important.
