OK, Andrew. I have a confession to make: it's a matter of public record that from 1964 to 1966 I was an informer for the FBI, reporting on left-wing groups involved in the antiwar movement in Philadelphia. In 1967 I enlisted in the Army intending to go into Intelligence, but was given a medical discharge before I went through advanced training. (I had my fifteen minutes of fame in the spring of 1971, when I went public about my work as an informer.) My father, on the other hand, spent 30 years in Military Intelligence, both active-duty and in the Reserve; by the time he retired, in 1971, he was the highest-ranking Reserve officer in Military Intelligence in the continental United States. I am sure that he forced himself to forget, or at least not think about, many of the things he had been involved in; from the little he did say, it's clear that at least *some* of the hypotheses floating around about high-level conspiracies are partially correct. For example, I expect some sort of invasion from outer space in the next couple of years, either genuine or staged, on the basis of which an effort will be made to eliminate national sovereignty. But there's another factor operating in my presence on the list. It is precisely my background in intelligence and related matters that brings me here, *because I know damn well that conspiracies make the world go round.* It's not one overarching Illuminati or Luciferian or Satanic or Jewish or Lutheran or any other kind of group behind the scenes; rather, it's a hodge-podge of all sorts of self-defined elites and wannabes, who claim--and maybe believe--that they really do run things... And sometimes they wind up cooperating, sometimes they compete, sometimes they just cancel each other out. And it's virtual places like CTRL that provide the best vantage points from which to observe and study these various conspiracies. I remember that years ago some friends of mine in the Catholic Resistance came up, quite accidentally, with a marvelous typo: they issued a statement in which they spelled "conspiracy" CONSPIRICY--in other words, not those who breathe together, but those who share the same Spirit. I like to think of CTRL, on good days, as a *conspiricy.* Bob ================================= Robert F. Tatman [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Remove "nospam" from the address to reply.
