authenticity of the recent news article claiming Carville's arrest for
domestic violence:

Yesterday one of our friends here in Sacramento called with this story.
He had pulled it off the dejanews.com site, and had e-mailed Joseph
about it. I planned to phone some people and check out the newspaper,
but about 20 minutes later Jay called again.
Someone had called him back and informed him that "canular" is "hoax" in
French. True. Lee Canular = the hoax. I spotted a second small jest.
Note that at the end an Ami DeCour is said to have contributed to the
article. "Ami de cour" means a friend of or in the court."
Pretty neat, n'cest pas?

It was a good hoax and beleivable because it fit the image of the ranting
and raving hick that Carville is. -mm
