Thanks for the excellent post, Roads End.  Also, I think the history of
the infamous Nathan Bedford Forrest would be an interesting topic for
research.  Forrest, one of the later founders of the Klan, gave the
order to massacre the Union soldiers captured at Fort Pillow, Tennessee.

In addition to Pike's statue coming down, I would like to see the name of
Forrest removed from the nation's schools.  He was definitely a bad egg.

A week ago, they had an interesting debate on C-SPAN dealing with
President Lincoln's murder.  There's new evidence that
suggests Confederate leaders were involved in the conspiracy.
This has angered those historians who want a more watered down, soft-lens
Ken Burns vision of the Civil War.
