*** 7 volunteer to be crucified. SAN FERNANDO, Philippines (AP) 7 penitents
in a northern Philippine village have agreed to be nailed to wooden crosses
on Good Friday, a gruesome ritual that draws large crowds of tourists every
year. More people are expected to sign up to have four-inch nails driven in-
to their hands and in some cases feet as well, in a reenactment of Christ's
sufferings. Last year, men dressed as Roman soldiers nailed 14 men and a wo-
man to crosses on a hill in the village. The ritual has continued for more
than 40 years in Asia's only predominately Roman Catholic nation. The grima-
cing penitents usually stay on the cross for a few minutes before being hel-
ped down. http://www.infobeat.com/stories/cgi/story.cgi?id=2558970311-377
: Does your belief system encourage you to undergo agonies? Would you volun-
teer to suffer anyway? Do the voices in your head tell you to? Honestly?

*** Inuit to get new Canadian territory. IQALUIT, Northwest Territories (AP)
The fur traders came, then the missionaries and the Mounties, sometimes hel-
pful, often bullying. Maps claimed the harsh arctic wilderness to be Canada,
but always, in their hearts, the Inuit considered it their own. On Thursday,
the maps change. Fireworks will light the midnight sky over frozen Frobisher
Bay, a new flag will rise and an Inuit-dominated legislature will be sworn
in to govern the new Canadian territory of Nunavut - "our land" in the Inuit
language, Inuktitut. Carved out of the eastern 60% of the Northwest Territo-
ries, Nunavut represents one of the boldest initiatives by any nation to re-
store land and self-government to an aboriginal people. See

away from oppressors? Were you helped by armies, NGOs, disease, fate, ETs?

@ An Abbreviated History of Earth. "Mankind has been on this world for one
million years. This constitutes TWO five hundred thousand year timelines.
This is the amount of time allotted by universal protocol for the develop-
ment of ascendant life. At the end of each timeline, judgement is held and
rapture performed. Typically, those deemed ascendant are taken to a world
the next level up with a stop over in Jerusem, the universal capitol, for
an orientation period." See http://www.planetaryhq.com/history.htm
: What's your favorite timeline? Have you ever become ascendant? What's your
favorite rapture? Are raptures time-wasting? Do you fiddle with your implant
while you await your turn? Do you get cranky if your judgment goes slowly?

# 'Oldest ever' fossils found - Disturbances in the Earth's crust destroyed
many fossils. (BBC) The oldest, tiniest fossils yet identified will be un-
veiled at a meeting in Strasbourg next week. The bacterial creatures, which
resemble "pond slime", were found in North West Australia and are estimated
to be approximately three-and-a-half billion years old. Ooze on over to:
