Report on the 11th Annual International UFO Congress Convention and Film Festival By Donald M. Ware, 662 Fairway Ave., Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32547 Our 11th winter convention March 3-9, 2002 in Laughlin, Nevada was a wonderful learning experience with many dear friends. Unexpectedly, the hotel raised prices drastically, which coupled with the events of 9-11, caused a lower attendance from the record of last year. Next year we meet at the Flamingo Laughlin Hotel, February 2-8, where the packages, including the entire conference and hotel room for eight nights, will start at just $380.00. We are very excited about the new facility, as it is a new, smoke free convention center, and we can seat up to 1200. We had 30 speakers from five countries this year, and a record 17 films competing for EBE awards. Each morning Dolores Cannon hosted small gatherings for experiencers. Again the food and drinks provided at the Wednesday meet-the-speakers party were sufficient for dinner, door prizes generously donated by the exhibitors were awarded, and for those with the energy, the dancing lasted until the wee hours. I suspect we each made some new friends. Bob, Teri, the A/V crew, and the River Palms Resort staff superbly presented the Saturday night banquet and EBE awards. Dolores Cannon spoke Sunday evening after we viewed five films in the afternoon. She described herself as a retired Navy wife, and she has become a very popular regressionist and psychic researcher. Her topic was "The Convoluted Universe", which is the title of her latest book. She uses a level of hypnotic trance that bypasses the conscious mind get to the sub-conscious. She said, "Strange things happen there." The information she receives gets heavily into metaphysics. She said, "Time is an illusion. Everything happens at the same time." She referred to the TV shows "Sliders" and "Stargate". She said we have to get rid of the violence before we can join the others out there. She is not allowed to lecture on some information she is given, because it is too dangerous. She talked about "Indigo Children" or what she calls Star Children. "Scientists say their DNA is different." She spoke at a conference in Minnesota just for Star Children. Some are designated ADD and drugged. Teachers need to be educated about them. "Their genes are being manipulated to fit into the new world we are entering." Concerning accusations about "playing God" she said, "If you create a new body, it won't live if the soul does not want to transfer." She mentioned a past civilization that had life destroyed by an ozone hole. She said, "Our government is genetically changing." (I wish I had asked about that in the Q&A.) She closed with, "I think aliens are closer to God than we are." Paul LaViolette, Ph.D., our first speaker Monday, has a Physics degree from John Hopkins and a Ph.D. in system theory from Portland State. He is president of the Starburst Foundation. His talk borrowed the name of his fourth book, The Talk of the Galaxy: An ET Message For Us. He built a credible case showing that the ordered signals of pulsars are non-randomly distributed in the sky, and they purposefully mark key galactic locations. These repetitive pulses were first discovered in 1967, and they seem to transmit on all frequencies. The first one named was LGM 1 for "little green men." He thinks x-ray stars are used as energy sources for the synchrotron radiation beams. The fastest pulse, about 1 millisecond, is in the optical range. He found that peaks of Beryllium 10 produced in the atmosphere by cosmic rays are tied in with ice age endings. Floods resulting from rapid heating have buried many ancient animals in mud deposits. The second fastest is near the tip of the Sagittarius arrow. He thinks aliens long ago taught us their lore through the zodiac. Next William Donato revisited Edgar Casey's Caribbean Atlantis. He received an MA in Anthropology from California State University Fullerton, and his Masters thesis was on, "A Re-examination of the Atlantis Theory." He is also founder and editor of The Atlantis Organization. He said that prior to melting of the glaciers, the Bahamas had tens of thousands of square miles of land. He dated the peak of the Atlantis civilization at 10,490-10590 BC. He thinks the Atlantean dynasty was started by human/alien hybrids. He showed five trays of slides, mostly of stones above and below the water. Some looked like ancient ruins. One 200 lb marble block had carving on it. He showed round holes in blocks in "the Bimini Road." One rectangular area of stone measured ¼ by ½ mile. Terry Hansen has an MA in science journalism, and he has a special interest in scientific controversies and the "politics of knowledge." He said that somewhere between local news outlets and national news media, UFO stories either vanish altogether or become grossly distorted. The same censorship and propaganda methods deployed during wars and national emergencies have been used to shape public thinking about the UFO situation. He used a takeoff on a Soviet joke about the economy, "The government pretends to pay us, and we pretend to work." by saying, "The government pretends to tell us the truth, and reporters pretend to believe it." In 1975 he noticed local coverage in Montana of UFOs over nuclear facilities. In 1977 the story emerged in the National Enquirer. Another two years elapsed before a free-lance reporter got it in New York Times Magazine. He mentioned a quote from the movie, Men In Black, "If you really want to know about UFOs, read the National Inquirer." He described "book reality" as what people experience and "official reality" as what Washington wants us to believe about it. He quoted Walter Lippman as saying, "Without some form of censorship, propaganda is impossible." The obituary for the first Director of CBS news indicated they "didn't raise an eyebrow about cooperating with the CIA back then." Hansen said Dr. R.V. Jones, Director of Scientific Intelligence of the MOD, was good at scaring people away from sensitive areas. He also had a roll in setting up the Condon Report. He mentioned a list of 12 methods of news censorship that started with lifetime secrecy agreements and ended with assassination. He said that when UFOs were added to the JANAP 146(c) list of things not talked about, 450 airline pilots signed petitions objecting. He talked about the history of the National Inquirer. Gene Pope, the first publisher, got an engineering degree from MIT at age 19, worked in CIA Psychological Warfare, bought the New York Inquirer and changed its name. He was well connected to the Nixon White House, and Melvin Laird gave the eulogy at his funeral. Then a guy writing a book about Gene Pope got resistance from the FBI. He said, to run an effective campaign all major media must cooperate, and heads of mass media are members of the CFR. Jonathan Ray Spinney, President of Medicine Bear Publishing and publisher of New Science, spoke on the subject of his new book, Back to Mars or Forward to Venus? His two previous books provide a wealth of information about mysterious events now increasing on this planet. He was an artist with a gallery in Taos, who also sold books worldwide, when Fred Bell came to visit and got him interested in selling videos as well. Needing millions to invest in expansion, a potential investor asked him to meet at his Denmark castle. Three weeks later he was told the investor was hit while on a motorcycle, Fred Bell's bank accounts were frozen, Barnes and Noble sent all books back though sales were increasing, and someone broke into his office and destroyed his hard drives. Spinney said, "They won't let an outside publisher into the mainstream." He concluded that aliens inhabit the moon, and it is possible that our government is working with them. He showed Apollo moon photo #12517552 that had two UFOs, one in motion. He said one mission of Apollo 13 was to detonate a nuclear device to see if it was hollow. He said, "They won't turn the Hubble toward the moon." He showed evidence that Mars suffered a massive impact, perhaps a 100km diameter asteroid, that caused the northern hemisphere to be two miles lower than the southern. It was hit opposite Mt. Olympus. The ruins on the Cydonia Plain were constructed after the impact. He thinks the Russian Venus probe was dropped near a volcanic eruption that skewed the data. He said, "Jupiter may be a planet of souls." He thinks that pumping oil from the Earth causes an imbalance in the planet. On Tuesday Rod Skenandore "Elk Chief", an Engineer with experience at NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, reminded us of "days long ago when two-leggeds flew," and he gave us a spiritual overview. Six of his grandfathers were Holy Men, and he is a Reiki Master and is called Medicine Man. He described the assigned roles of the four races; Red man takes care of the earth, White man takes care of the air, Yellow man takes care of the water, and Black man takes care of the fire. He said, "The cells of your body remember the love that you gave to whatever planet you are from." Everything has a soul. If you connect your heart and mind together, you are there where creation is. He asked, "When you go to the woods at night do you see evil? No, you see yourself." The body is the sack that holds the soul, and the soul is the sack that holds the spirit. He said, "I was part of a religious society..., but every Sunday I would be drug back to the place I was trying to get out of." He talked about little people from other planets who said they have relatives who lived underground here for a long time. Tall blue-eyed blond men came also. They were old souls who knew all languages. "We celebrated when they came." They said buffalo lived on their planet. Skenandore has written a book yet to be published, The Earth is a Perfect Mother. Mark Macy, author of a new book, Miracles in the Storm, spoke about instrumental trans-communication (ITC). A brush with cancer started him on his spiritual path in the 1980s. ITC researchers leave their computers on and sometimes get text or image files from the spirit side. They leave a radio between channels and get contact messages. They even got a 12-minute phone call from "heaven." In 1995 ITC researchers met in England where Macy learned of a 3-page FAX from Jules Verne describing what he found on the spirit side. Macy said you must have resonance and harmony among researchers for it to work. He said Tesla found that sound resonance can trigger an earthquake, and ITC researchers use resonance of spirit among humans. Due to ego and hormones, resonance is difficult to sustain. He works with a group of seven. They learned that very advanced humans inhabit Marduk. Some of their friends went there after death. When you want something in the spirit world it sometimes materializes. Astral bodies usually appear 25-35 years old. Henry St. Clair Deville, a French chemistry professor born in 1881, told the researchers that thousands on the spirit side are trying to open a bridge between our worlds. Macy said he has an illuminator for subtle energies that can help us see spirits. Barry Carter gave us an "ORMUS Update." Super-deformed monatomic elements have been extracted from air, water, soil, rock, and some food. He said that these elements, like the white powder of gold, are the keystone in the bridge between spiritual and physical reality. He said, "Quantum coherence in each cell may be key to consciousness." Carter described an experiment where a laser shown through a DNA molecule produced an interference pattern. The DNA was removed, and the laser continued to produce the pattern. It did not produce the pattern before the DNA was put in its path. He described several "easy" ways to produce these materials that could promote excellent health. He has started writing an environmental impact statement for use of ORMUS. He closed by saying, "We can almost define love as quantum coherence, being connected with everything." Skip Atwater, author of Captain of My Ship, Master of My Soul, now is Research Director of the Monroe Institute in Virginia. He said that his childhood was filled with extraordinary psychic experiences, and he was guided from within to become a US Army Counterintelligence Special Agent. >From 1977-88 he was Operations and Training Officer for remote-viewing spies. He studied the Extended Reticular Thalamic Activity System of the brain, responsible for regulating arousal levels. He named five states; delta (1-3 Hz) the sleep state, theta (4-7), alpha (8-13), beta (13-30) our normal awake state, and gamma (>30 Hz) where mystical, transcendent experience often occurs. Atwater described remote viewing as, "The acquisition and description, by mental means, of information blocked from ordinary perception by distance, shielding, or time." He described the Stanford Research Institute study with Puthof and Targ, where they found that it was not necessary for anyone to go to a place to view it. You could also view a place at different times. They viewed Mars a long time ago and found tall thin people in strange clothes that seemed to know there would be a catastrophic event. They built protective structures, and the event blew away the atmosphere. Atwater said, "The value of RV for me is the experience. You can be connected with anywhere and any when." In response to a question about protection from remote viewing, he said. "Kill the remote viewer or use deception. For example, attack a link in the chain, like putting party music at missile sites." Mark McLaughlin spoke after dinner Tuesday. He is co-author of the Alternative Energy Institute's new book, Turning the Corner: Energy Solutions for the 21st Century. He reminded us of our responsibility to take care of the planet. He said that reported cases of asthma have doubled since 1980. Asthma now leads all chronic diseases as the reason for missing school. Nuclear energy is not the answer, and Germany now has a law banning nuclear electric plants. He said that ethanol actually has a negative energy impact. He said that behind the curtain is cold fusion, zero-point energy, and gravity modification that reduces energy needs. He described four stages that new technologies go through. First, most of the scientific community says it's crazy; then, it may be possible. Some scientists then say, "I thought it was a good idea all along." and finally, "I thought of it first." Ted Loman spoke about the 1947 Aztec, NM UFO crash and five other crashes in that area. He interviewed many people for the highly respected "UFOAZ Talks" weekly TV program, and he continues to produce videos such as this year's EBE winner, "It Fell from the Sky." "Off the Record" videos are now in 40 US public-access TV markets. While investigating the site of a reported crash in June 1947 he found a port-a-potty on a 12' X 40' cement slab. Refuse from an army bivwac was left at one site. Papers for the day in question were missing from the local library. At the August 1947 crash site in Arizona, described to Robert Morning Sky by his father, he found suspicious damage to a tree, and the paper for that day was also missing from the local library. He showed pictures of the old drawings related to the 21 Oct 47 crash in Paradise Valley. Some people in the drawings look like the alien in the "autopsy" film. He reported what Bill Uhouse said about the Kingman, AZ crash in 1953. Aliens were apparently mining arsenic and boron there. Uhouse had to design a shower for the surviving alien. He said it had to wash off the bacteria they spread on their body to nourish them. He mentioned that the ANCPS-5 radar interfered with UFO systems. He found Henry Kissenger's name related to the project. When Kissenger enlisted, he was found to be so smart that he was commissioned as a Captain and put into intelligence work. Loman also mentioned the deaths of Marilyn Monroe and Dorothy Kilgallen. Monroe had apparently been told too much about things in space, missiles in Cuba, and plots against Castro. Kilgallen had just had a private interview with Jack Ruby. A.J. Gevaerd, our IUFOC director from Brasilia, reported on the UFO phenomenon in Brazil. He gave up teaching Chemistry to become a full-time UFO researcher in 1986. He has been founder and Editor of the Brazilian UFO Magazine for 18 years and is founder and Director of the Brazilian Center for UFO Research. He said that in 1987 the Air Force Colonel that headed a UFO investigation team met with an alien that came out of a 310-foot ship. Ten years later the Colonel's wife quit sleeping with him after being abducted, and this led to his suicide. Gevaerd mentioned a native tribe that believes they are superior because they are related to sky people. A hotel owner built a spaceport and put out a sign, "Be welcome ET, but come in peace." About 100 miles west of Manaus a woman washing dishes saw a "powerful man in a one-piece suit and helmet walk up her wall." She went out and saw him jump from the roof into a huge spaceship, and the family watched it fly away. A man reported balls of light that would brighten, shrink, expand, or come close in response to his thoughts. He called them probes and said they come through the walls. Once he shot a light ball and got no reaction. He shot again and it moved away slowly. Gevaerd said the Catholic Church probably knows more about UFOs than the US Government. Many people see strange things and tell their priest. One man was taking his sick wife across a river when a light followed them and caused a strange feeling. When they got to the other side she was healed. Some said aliens are trying to help us heal the forest. We are damaging about 5% of it each year. One lady with an implant was sitting in her car when a "glowing being came from the sky." She was told not to remove the implant, because it tells where she is and when she wants a contact. One lady had an object shoved up her nose and was shown an image of it on a screen. Another lady who liked to paint was abducted and shown images on a screen. Afterwards her paintings changed to beautiful landscapes of other planets. The talent of a pianist greatly improved after an abduction. A popular cartoonist, like Walt Disney, has had alien contacts according to his web site. Two ladies that were abducted developed a telepathic connection with each other. Bob Brown, by popular demand, then granted Gevaerd 30 minutes of the lunch period to continue. A VW bug was lifted 300 feet into a spacecraft. It got hot. They stayed 14 minutes, and it "smelled like the inside of a refrigerator." The granddaughter saw a small alien beside the car during the lift. She got a small scar, but it didn't hurt. The man asked the alien if they believe in God. He said, "Yes." When asked if their God was the same as ours, he said, "Yes." Gevaerd said that aliens and we are part of a bigger thing. They are aware of it and we are not. We are faced with visitors from many places, some friendly and some not. The vast majority is just doing their job. He showed some video from the "smoke squadron" incident where an Air Force demonstration plane was lost. A small round object was seen to pass close to the wing root before a loop. Even though the wing should withstand 11 Gs, it broke off at three Gs. Other similar objects were videoed as the pieces fell. The pilot ejected and survived. Michael Hesemann, our IUFOC Director from Germany then spoke about new UFO evidence from Russia. He is author of UFOs: a Secret History, The Fatima Secret, and Beyond Roswell. Among his several award winning video documentaries are "Ships of Light" and "UFOs: The Footage Archives." Hesemann has lectured in 25 countries including the Lateran University of the Vatican and at the United Nations. He was received by Pope John Paul II whose follow-on letter expressed "admiration and appreciation for your laborious work." Since the cold war, Russia has opened many UFO files. One was a 3 Apr 90 cigar-shaped craft that stopped traffic. Two objects were over the Black Sea in a 15 Aug 93 photo. A military officer photographed a top-shaped object over the Volga River. The USSR often sent interceptors after UFOs, and their weapon systems failed when activated. A man who worked on the central staff in 1980 said UFO reports were covered up. Some there tried to establish contact like CSETI does. A 71-year-old lady in their state of Georgia found a strange 18-inch baby by the road on 3 Jun 96. "It only wanted to eat sweets." She got sick and went to the hospital, leaving the baby home alone. She died, and on 13 August authorities found the dead baby, now only 9 inches long. It had a large domed head with ridges and a small face with big eyes and mouth. She probably got sick from contact. A medical doctor and police captain handled it but did not get sick. It was confiscated by Security Services and reported to Internal Affairs. Next Dan Iaria and Dan McEvoy presented an update on the Jonathan Reed case with the assistance of Dr. Jonathan Reed and Robert Raith. On 15 Oct 96 Reed brought an alien to his home that he thought he had killed after his dog had a fatal encounter in the woods. It recovered for nine days there before "government agents" cleaned out his home and office and attempted to erase his background. Dan Iaria received a BS degree from Purdue University in 1986. He became interested in the case while consulting for Microsoft at their Redmond, WA campus, and he has actively researched the case for over two years. He said the "UFO Magazine" (US) article about the case was poorly written and researched. He later wrote an article for them that they ignored. Reed's e-mail address was listed in a 21 Aug 96 database of University of Washington staff and faculty. His name is in his 1980 class ring from his Ph. D. class at the University of California. The loan officer from Reed's bank said that he had an account since 1985 that indicated a doctor's income. "One day we were called into a meeting and told we did not know him. If I ever wanted to work in a bank again, he didn't exist. Never talk about it." All his paperwork was taken overnight. She became concerned about her physical security when they called her home, and she left the bank. A lady who worked with Reed said, "We were told he never existed. He was very professional with the children he worked with." Iaria said the agents did not take an audio tape of noises made by the alien they named Freddy." He said soil samples of the ground, where the obelisk was, showed radiation traces, indicating that a high-energy event took place there. Dan McEvoy has investigated paranormal events for 15 years. He has owned and operated a business for 10 years following a tour with the US Army's JFK Center for Special Warfare. He has focused on the Reed case since it was first presented at our IUFOC Convention. He said a guy in Maryland reported seeing the same kind of alien 50 years ago. The blood and tissue samples taken to the University of Washington had 46 chromosomes, more like dolphins or sea turtles than humans. An uncle and aunt confirmed that he earned a Ph. D. An officer at his bank said he only recovered about half of the more than $80,000 that was in his bank account. When he returned to his office building, a security guard said, "You are not supposed to be here." McEvoy met with Reed and two members of the "Alliance" who had the Link wrapped in a blue cloth. Reed put it on, and it "vibrated and looked frosty." He disappeared, and some seconds later a gold orb of light appeared in the corner of the room and floated to the chair where Reed reappeared. The Alliance, described as businessmen and scientists who want to bring forward the ET reality, said that they had another Link, but it did not appear to work. Jonathon Reed, author with Robert Raith of "Link - An Extraterrestrial Odyssey", said we need to be smarter. He started a fundraiser in Mexico, with help from their government, for the Mariposa (Transformation) Center NW of Mexico City. He was asked in the Q&A session what happened when he put on the Link. He said, when the pins penetrated his arm muscles he felt heat and vibration in the heart. He appeared to be in an egg-shaped room with beings of light that seemed loving, warm, and gentle. For some reason we are very important to them. Reed said he had physically been in Freddy's presence multiple times since he left his home in Washington. Thursday morning Dolores Cannon invited people from her support gatherings to share their experiences with the audience, and 13 did. Without mentioning names, I will pass on a few comments. A lady on a sky watch "felt" a being expressing peace and love and encouraging us to do likewise. Another got an image of the Christ in a white robe saying, "I shall walk among you, and so shall my family of light." In the 1960s, an Army wife was driving to a Nike unit party on Oracle Road in the Arizona desert when her little red Jaguar quit. She followed a path going over the adjacent hill to small a square building with a man in it. She asked for help. He said go back to the car. Three guys, who could not have fit into the building, came, looked under the hood, said in a monotone voice, "There is nothing wrong with your car." and left. Two years later she saw an article about a UFO at Oracle, AZ. Another lady said this was her first conference and may be her last. She was suddenly awakened last night three times, and there were two bright green lines on the wall with a circle above them. After her morning shower the symbol was in the condensation on the mirror. A lady from the Bay area went to her first group meditation and saw two round-faced beings in white robes walk by, and she felt a physical touch. Half of her water in her backpack was mysteriously gone. A lady who mysteriously loses jewelry had a gold bracelet reappear six months later, still latched. It is too small to slip off, and she said she always wore it. A lady from Monterey reported seeing ETs including mantis types, and she gets premonitions of things like plane crashes. Carla Rueckert received a degree in English Literature in 1966 and a Masters in Library Service in 1971. She assisted Don Elkins with UFO research for many years, began channeling in 1974, and in 1987 she married Jim McCarty, the scribe for the 1981-'84 RA contact. She wrote The Wanderer's Handbook (2001) and continues non-trance channeling at Sunday meditation meetings in Louisville, KY. Her presentation, full of wisdom and lovely song, was an emotional experience for me. She started by saying, "I love everybody, everything. I think everybody in this audience is ready to become an angel." She said she is much interested in building a road from 3rd-density to 4th-density experience. She received many questions in letters responding to earlier books. These were put into 120 categories and answered in The Wanderer's Handbook with the assistance of the "Confederation of Planets in the Infinite Service of the Creator." She said, "According to those of RA we are in the last 10 years of the old age." This is the end of a 75,000-year cycle. Many souls are now being denied incarnations here. It helps to have someone to sit in silence with. Stop talking and listen. Walk in nature. Just be. Rueckert laments that when you go to a party people don't say, "What do you be?" Meditate 5 minutes in the morning, and in the evening think about what harvest you made today. She said, "We are very close to the 100th monkey effect of awakening." In the Q&A she said, "You will inspire people as you love them. They can't infringe on anyone's free will by coming among us, so they share through people like me." I highly recommend buying this audiotape, and check www.llresearch.org. Roger Leir is a Podiatric Surgeon in practice for 35 years and is author of The Alien and the Scalpel. On 29 Oct 01 his surgical team completed the 10th operation to remove what appears to be an alien implant. Analysis shows that the biological covering over some implants contains an oil of fatty acids that is not in any known database. Some implants appear to be nano-technology. The subject of the last surgery had been sleeping when the room filled with bluish-white light. She went to the window; saw a craft outside, and thinks she went back to bed. She woke feeling like she had the flu, and while taking a shower she found a lump on her arm that moved when she touched it. Three years later she heard Leir's lecture, and later she called him about her "cyst." It still moved anywhere in a circle of about 2 ½ inches. Leir went into some detail on the Gary Lowery case that involves considerable physical evidence, though no implant removal. Lowery remembered green almond-shaped eyes staring at him in 1963, and saw a UFO later. Then, in 1975 he was with four other fellows near Mt. Shasta when they saw a UFO that shined a cobalt light on them. Budd Hopkins did the hypnosis with him and was invited to come on stage. Hopkins said he felt the story was accurate and truthful. Leir reported that Lowery's son said, "Little men from the lights come and get us, Daddy." They were about five feet tall and had things protruding from the top of their large heads. They put tinfoil on the carpet; covered it by a towel, and got footprints in the foil. A claw-shaped thing with three hairs growing out of it appeared on the towel. Bob Hieronimus funded the DNA analysis of the object. Gary Lowery, a Fire Prevention Officer from Bakersfield, CA, then came up to add to the story. He said he was trying to convince his wife that strange things were happening when he got a camera hidden in a clock radio from a security company. The camera showed a light shining on him in a couple of frames. The next night it showed only one frame of a laser-like light on his face. "They seem to have the ability to skip in time." There was a strange magnetic field in the bedroom that magnetized many items there. They downloaded Windows onto 100 discs. He said a gray alien told him that we were the only species that kills, robs, and rapes. He said the DNA signature of the strange object was strangely unique. Haktan Akdogan was born in Ismir, Turkey in 1965 and moved to New York to study art in 1985. He speaks English, French, and Turkish fluently. After studying UFOs in America, he returned to Turkey in 1996 and prepared a weekly documentary, "UFO Reality," that was broadcast on two national TV channels. He then hosted a weekly radio program, and 2 May 98 founded the Sirius UFO Space Sciences Research Center. On 17 Jan 02 he opened the world's fourth International UFO Museum. He is also co-founder of the Sirius Publishing House. Akdogan, now age 37, started watching Star Trek in Turkey as a child of 8 or 9. He said he left New York to let people in Turkey know about UFOs. His first TV show was 11 PM on 28 Feb 96. The next morning all newspapers reported UFOs over five Turkish cities at 11 PM. During the 5th or 6th show an Islamic group called and threatened his life if he did not stop the show. When he and his lovely friend, Essen, went home there was a glowing white UFO hovering 300 meters away lighting the tops of the trees for 20-30 seconds. They woke at 0300 the next morning when a ball of light came into the room. It came close, and he put his hand into it. He said every molecule in his body increased in vibration, then, it went out the window. He was told, "Don't be afraid. Go on." They broadcast 40 episodes, formed the UFO Center, and started hosting International UFO Symposiums in Istanbul. He said their creation myths include vehicles and lights in the sky, and 19 Turkish tribes were said to be initiated by ladies from the sky mating with them. He said there are references in the Koran saying that the ones in the skies and on earth worship Allah. Headlines in Turkey said their Prime Minister watched UFOs put on a show for 10-15 minutes, and he later became President. Many UFO sightings seemed to be associated with the 1999 earthquake. A well reported UFO flap in the summer of 2001 started with an encounter with what was concluded to be a robot. A disk-shaped object maneuvered around a T-37 from Ismir AFB for about 15 minutes until the engine started to malfunction. Also, one abductee with no boyfriend became pregnant. Then it was removed. Her doctor confirmed this on video. Angela T. Smith, Ph. D., author of Remote Perceptions and Diary of an Abduction, spoke first on Friday. She received her Doctorate in Psychology and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. Her current human consciousness studies are exploring mind-matter interaction (psycho kinesis) and remote perception (remote viewing). She has had ET interactions since childhood, and in 1990 she reached out and touched one by her bed. As they stood beside the bed making twittering noises, she put her arm around one and felt its back. She withdrew her hand when she realized it caused them stress. Her guest then saw them, and they fled. She described two types of abduction. Type 1: awaken, sometimes beeps or buzzes, lights, electronics may fail, telepathic communication, procedures as described by Hopkins or Jacobs, taken back with induced amnesia, might then find bruises, cuts, or other marks. Type 2: interaction with government related humans, skin and blood samples taken, amnesia induced. She said that the people who lead our country are aware of these phenomena. It is difficult to determine if this is good or bad, because we do not know their intent. She said, "I met a gray on the stairs at home, and they wanted to do a mind probe. I tried to move it away and couldn't, so I bit it on the head. It was firm like an eraser. Then I blacked out, and later I felt remorse." They said we are killing the fish. She briefly described nine scientific surveys of abduction phenomena and quoted Dr. John Mack as saying, "There is much to be learned after we overcome fear." She mentioned that the percentage of abductees who report autoimmune diseases like lupus and arthritis is higher than the national average. In the Q&A she said that several times she has been pregnant just past the first trimester, and then it was gone. She knows many women who have had the same experience. Concerning "military abductions, she thinks that almost all who experience abduction type 1 also experience type 2. She doesn't feel bad after type 1, but heard beeps and felt bad after type 2. Some evidence points to the US Navy and some to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. When asked about animal abductions, she said that when she was abducted at Princeton, her black cat came along. Streiber's cat was also taken. Marshall Lee then spoke about the Varginha, Brazil crash/retrieval case. After two years as a US Navy officer in WW II and three as Director of Inter-Allied Cultural Relations in Europe, Lee returned to publishing in New York City. In 1965 he wrote BOOKMAKING, the standard publishing textbook. He was Vice-President of Henry N. Abrams, Inc., and he owns Balance House, Ltd. and The International Archive of Art, Ltd. He recently established InterWorld Press to create and produce books relating to contacts between our world and others. He is now editor and publisher of Beyond a Reasonable Doubt by Vitorio Pacaccini and Andre Escher (forward by Dr. John Mack) to be released this fall. On 26 Jan 96 the US Government was tracking several objects in orbit when one came down toward Brazil. The Brazilian Government/Army Sergeants School near Varginha was notified to prepare for what was about to happen. At 1:30 AM bellowing cows awakened a farmer. He looked out and saw a craft the size of a minibus about 20 feet above the ground bellowing smoke and moving slowly toward Varginha. That morning some boys found a three-foot humanoid creature with protrusions on top of its head on a slope beside their apartment complex. They threw stones at it. It made strange noises as firemen caught it in a net. It had three fingers, two large toes, and a strong odor of ammonia. Four soldiers went into the woods after two others. Shots were fired, and they were brought out in bags, one dead and the other wounded. Three EBEs had been rescued by 1:30 PM. Three girls found a fourth crouched by a wall on their way home. They told their mother, and by the time they got back they found only prints. Pacaccini, a UFO researcher, soon learned about the morning events from a military police officer and got a 43-minute interview on tape. The civilian government was suppressed. Lee said that military authorities referred to Pacaccini as a stone in their shoe and wanted to get rid of him. The ETs at Roswell and at Varginha appeared unable to defend themselves. Lee wondered if they are just tools of higher-level beings. He thinks it is possible for the beings that came down in Varginha to have been rescued rather than captured despite the brutality of the military. There is evidence that two EBEs died. Dr. Pahares did an autopsy at the University of Campinas. A soldier who was in the woods when the EBEs were shot got an infection, withered away, and died in two weeks. His car was destroyed, and his brain was removed without permission. His family was advised to seal the coffin and bury him within hours. The craft was cut into pieces and taken to Sao Jose do Campos where Dan Goldin and other Americans met. On 5 Apr 96 Pacaccini was interrogated by an Army Colonel who shouted at him and denied him water and permission to go to the restroom. They threatened that he may never see his mother again, and he signed a deposition. They never said his report was untrue. A young man tried to sell some of his father's EBE pictures to El Globe for $15,000. He was turned down, and the father turned in his son. During Dr. Mack's meeting with the three girls, four men came and offered $20,000 if they would go on TV and deny their earlier story. They said no. On 21 Apr 96 a lady saw a 5th EBE near a woods behind a restaurant. Lee said that 50 New York publishers rejected Pacaccini's book. He thinks this was caused by disbelief, fear of ridicule, ignorance, and bad logic rather than being in cahoots with the controllers. Graham Birdsall was given time during a lunch period for a presentation on which I took only skimpy notes. He said one reason for the cover-up is religion, but the truth would also affect stocks and cause an economic crisis. He had seen convincing evidence that the Vatican is now conditioning Catholics for an announcement of ET's presence. It has been for about four years. He said that on 21 Apr 01 NASA banned a message from the Pope for astronauts, because "it may offend non-Catholics." He mentioned that a delegation of Koreans was sent to this conference by a Christian church that embraces the reality of the UFO phenomena. The same two gentlemen attended the conference in Leeds, UK last year. Michael Horn is an advocate of the Billy Meier case and co-producer of the "Pleiadian Connection" video. He also wrote and sings "Spaceship on the White House Lawn", "The Ballad of Roswell" and other irreverent songs. He talked about scientific information acquired from the case 1-13 years before scientists announced the same findings as "new discoveries." He talked about Asket, Semjase, Quetsal, and Ptaah, all of whom provided important information through Meier for many years. He mentioned nine scientists that paid serious attention to this information. Sound engineers described the audiotape of an unshielded Pleiadian ship as having 32 simultaneously inter-phasing sounds that could not have been duplicated on our synthesizers. He said, "The complexity of the conversations helped validate them for me." The causes of damage to our ozone shield were described in the 7th contact (25 Feb 75), the 34th, and the 35th contact (16 Sep 75). There were predictions of earthquakes, a nuclear accident in Russia, and the landslide in Brazil in March 1992. They said nuclear power plants are bad, and open borders are bad when they allow a country to be abandoned. To have global peace we need global combat troops. They predicted AIDS, mad cow disease, and pedophilia in the Catholic Church. They recommended we reduce our population to half a billion. On 6 Jul 77 they let Meier put a hole through a large tree with a hand-held oxygen-iodine laser. They talked about the necessity of genetic engineering, and they said we are an engineered species. Dr. John Mack is a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and founder of the Center for Psychology and Social Change. In 1969 he founded the Department of Psychiatry at the Cambridge Hospital. He is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author whose latest book is Passport to the Cosmos: Human Transformation and Alien Encounters. On the question of why aliens are coming here he quoted the Dalai Llama as saying, ""They are very upset, because we are disturbing their environment." Mack said that some on other planets do not think well of us. We have a bad reputation. He got into trouble at Harvard when he said, "We may have to rethink reality." He showed one psychologist crop circle pictures, and the response was, "I have no place to put that." His son was quoted as saying, "Dad, I hope I get my career established before they find out I'm your son." Mack listed several areas of science we need to learn more about; quantum mechanics, quantum holography, zero point energy, chaos theory, string theory, and non-locality. In April 1999 he had a meeting at the Harvard Divinity School with 25 professors from 10 fields. "We would start talking about light and energy and end up talking about God." He said we need to understand the subtle realm. He quoted Barbara Ann Brennon, "Electromagnetic energy is finite. Subtle energy isn't." He talked about reptilians. A physician said they seem to suck his life energy. He said, "I don't love what they do to me, but I do care for them." One lady "felt as one with the serpent energy." One had a horrible description, "like a small T-rex." One reported that a reptilian popped onto her living room. She extended her hand, looked into his golden eyes, and blacked out. Later he said he is an ambassador here to tell us all those species do exist. "We are important." Mack considered if reptilians are related to the dragons in Greek and Islamic mythology. In the Q&A a Korean delegate commented on love of others and asked about the relationship between North and South Korea. Mack said, "Evil is an aspect of selves, not of countries." When asked if we are being studied, farmed, or evolved, he said, "All three." In response to another question he said, "Laurence Rockefeller funded my work and many other progressive projects." James Gilliland said his life was changed at age 26 by a near-death experience. That started a 20-year quest for understanding. He is author of Becoming Gods: A Reunion with the Source and Becoming Gods II, and he is founder of the Self Mastery Earth Institute in the Sattva Sanctuary at the base of Mt. Adams in Trout Lake, WA. While seeking Cosmic Awareness he encountered Angelic Guides, Ascended Masters, and other spiritually and technologically advanced beings. Over 2000 witnesses have experienced the contacts at the sanctuary. During the introduction, Nicole Brown-Irvine mentioned that when Michael Horn's camera battery failed, Gilliland said, "Give it to me." He held it in his hand for less than a minute, and it went to ½ charge. Gilliland said, "There seems to be a greater force that is creating many synchronicities." There are large meetings at his place in Trout Lake where they document all phases of the sightings. He plans to build a "Galactic University" and has been promised some galactic interface. He showed a video of a hovering "mother-ship" that recorded a strange sound from it. He said that it got great news coverage. He called them objects, not UFOs, because "We have been talking to them for about eight years." Tom Dongo took a picture of him during an OBE. It shows one of his images superimposed and higher than the other. He said, "We have bigfoot all over the place. I have seen them 50 feet away." He said the negative energy is on the way out. The way we do things now is unsustainable. They are not going to trespass on our free will, but they will not allow a nuclear exchange. He said he was on a ship with Pleiadians and remembers going by a fire tower. Then he saw a TV show about a UFO sighting from a fire tower, and realized that he was on that vehicle. He showed a picture of a flying saucer taken by visitors at Mt. Adams on 11 Sep 01. They said a hole expanded in the clouds, and it popped in. Gilliland has 16 acres of Echinacea on his property. He loves it when they fly over and light up the field. In his sky watch protocol he insists on pure intent, an open mind, a loving heart, and impeccable integrity. On Saturday Santiago Yturria Garza, a seasoned UFO investigator and researcher from Monterey, Mexico, spoke about two complex cases and the phenomenon of human-like beings seen floating in the air. In December 2000 Juan and Patricia Cardenas and their two sons were driving from Ft. Stockton, TX to San Antonio when they saw a UFO and parked the van. It came over them, and "The wind stopped." There was a red glow below and golden projections. He reported, "Sometimes the golden projections seemed to separate." There was missing time. After they left the place, they parked in a rest area and slept. On 5 Mar 01 Patricia videoed a beautiful blue plasma-like light that changed shape. She had another sighting on the 6th, and on the 7th Juan and son Jonathan also saw it before it got dark. An hour later Patricia felt a call, and they all went out and saw and videoed the object with blue, gold and white light. The other case involved Anthony Woods, his wife Samantha, and the "Bedhampton UFO sightings" in England. He saw his first UFO at age 8. In October 97 a huge white disk was seen, and then a red diamond-shaped one. On 10 Apr 01 he videoed mysterious spheres. On 20 June a huge cylinder trailed pink stuff that was "angel hair." In July he saw a cylinder-shaped UFO depart rapidly. Starting at 8:56 PM on 18 August there was 4 ½ hours of continuous activity involving spheres. In September Anthony was awakened by his name being called in his head. He looked out and saw red, glowing human-shaped figures. On 18 Nov 01 he videoed six small objects around a big one. In December he had another sighting, and he felt increased perception. A large structured vehicle with blue and white lights flew over on 1 Jan 02, and on the 22nd helicopters flew low over his home. On 24 January he videoed another UFO, and one hour later the helicopters were back. Then Garza gave many brief reports of humanoids seen and sometimes videoed floating in the sky. He mentioned the Mothman in West Virginia in 1966 and a flying woman reported in Vietnam in 1969. A glowing reddish figure was seen 22 Nov 86. There was a report of a "little man with a knapsack on his back" seen in the sky on 17 Sep 00. Another report came from Lexington, KY on 2 Aug 01 and others from Mexico and Chile. He thinks this phenomenon needs more serious study. Budd Hopkins, a New York artist, is famous for his three important books: Missing Time (1981), Intruders (1987), and Witnessed (1996). He became interested in UFO phenomena when he and two others had a daylight sighting in 1964. He started with a joke - or maybe it's true. A Native American wrote a note in Sioux for astronauts to give to people on the moon if they found them. When translated, it said, "Stay away from these people. They steal your land." Then he made a more serious report on Linda Cortile. She had two nephews, a niece, and a cousin working for a brokerage firm on the 104th floor of World Trade Center #1. She had an interview appointment there at 0900 on 11 Sep 01. She arrived early and was in the lobby when the first plane hit. The guard would not let people out since things were falling all around. Before long, she felt strongly that she needed to be somewhere else. The guard stopped her again, and she threatened him with the pepper spray she had carried since Dan (the 3rd man's security guard in Witnessed, a must read book) abducted her twice 12 years earlier. She went out, lost her high heels, got dust on her contacts, grabbed the hand of an old man struggling through the debris, was splattered by blood from a body landing 20 feet away, and finally made it to the river and was taken to a hospital. She lost three of her relatives upstairs and another who was a fireman. She is now seeing a therapist. Hopkins said that her 30 Nov 89 abduction by aliens was staged for the high level people in the cars below. Gorbachev met the Pope in Rome that day. The United Nations leader and others met in New York with Lech Walensa that day, and President Bush and Gorbachev met in Malta the next. Hopkins said, "We think Dan worked for the NSA." Richard, the other security guard, wrote to Cardinal O'Connor about his mental struggle, and the response included, "This must have been an extraordinary event to witness." Hopkins said that the "3rd man" was also a Catholic who probably also went to the Cardinal. Hopkins asked Cortile, a Catholic, to ask the Cardinal for an audience. She did, and got no response. Cortile then became sponsor for a Jewish friend who wanted to convert, and this led to a private meeting. The Cardinal started talking to Cortile more than her friend. He said he would personally conduct the sessions with the convert, and he told Cortile to come with her each time so he could talk with her. He said she could be helpful. She asked if she could visit the Pope with him. Hopkins said that he couldn't talk about the rest of the story yet. He then mentioned the Vatican's new observatory on Mt. Graham in Arizona. He said the pope sent a message with his best wishes and greetings to the UFO conference in Acapulco, because "what they are doing is extremely important work." Cortile said her boys have both had these experiences. One saw two aliens observing his baby brother in the crib. Linda's mother told her that she had been left wrapped in a blanket in the crib and later was found on the floor. Hopkins then talked about how childhood abductions influence the adult lives of abductees. "The aliens' lack of emotions should cause us to realize what richness we possess in our genes and our human spirit." Wendelle Stevens, a founding Director of the IUFOC and author of 22 books, presented 100 of the best UFO photos from around the world. He enlisted in the US Army shortly after high school and graduated from the Lockheed Aircraft Maintenance & Repair School. He then was commissioned in the Army Air Corps, attended Test Pilot School, and was checked out in all Army Air Corps aircraft and some of the Navy's. After WW II he supervised a highly classified team of technical specialists installing data-collecting equipment on B-29s for the Ptarmigan Project in Alaska. They got photos of UFOs, and recorded EM emissions and all disturbances on aircraft systems caused by them. He assured that the data was carried to Washington, DC nightly, but he was not allowed to see it. Stevens said that there was so much UFO activity in Brazil in the late '50s and '60s that we had a team stationed there to help keep the events out of the media. One man heard what sounded like "a million geese", flying over. It was a UFO that he photographed. The next day he heard the same sound and got more pictures. One man heard a buzzing sound while walking in the woods and got 12 good pictures of a Saturn-shaped object. He told the story of a young man who was driving home on a back road near Cabo Rojo, PR who slowed for a green fog and saw a white figure walking beside his car. It touched him on the forehead, and he passed out. He found himself in a "hangar" with aliens and 18 cars scattered about. The people looked dazed. They were shown images of earthquakes and a tidal wave sweeping over San Juan. They were called by name, and were told, "You will provide safe drinking water for 50,000 people." He woke at 0600 and saw two F-14s making passes on a large circular object. He got eight pictures. Two days later he got visitors demanding the pictures. He denied he had them, and they left. He spread some among relatives, and his story leaked to the world. Joe Flowers contacted Stevens four years ago and gave him a dozen pictures. Then he got another dozen. He showed some of the 18 great pictures taken during a contact with Graham Bethune's friend near Nashville. He showed the unusual photo of a rectangular vehicle with white lights on each corner. A 6 Jul 90 photo shows water falling from a saucer as it rose from the water near Puerto Rico. He showed a cow suspended below a strange shaped object in Australia. See www.UFOalert.com/pictures/76.html. He closed with photos taken ¼ mile from the River Palms Resort shortly after last year's convention. Scott Mandelker, Ph.D., author of From Elsewhere: Being ET in America (1995) and Universal Vision: Soul Evolution and the Cosmic Plan (2000) was the last speaker. He has an MA in Counseling and a Doctorate in East-West Psychology. With 20 years background in Buddhist study, meditation and the metaphysics of ET contact, he is focused on the current transformation of earth and human consciousness. He said that his perspective is very spiritual. This ET/human relationship is profoundly about spiritual growth. He said, "This conference is about much more than things. It is about our essence and our destiny." In high school he felt out of place, didn't like the world very much. "I was once considered borderline. I feel I am borderline enlightened. I want to cross the line." For his thesis he interviewed 25 people who all said they were ETs. He talked about the cosmic plan for the soul. "We are not alone. Not only are there ETs in ships, but other beings shepherd and guide us." Humanity needs to learn to love. "Earth is an inter-dimensional school for souls who have not yet learned to love." Graduation is called harvest or ascension - to 4th density experience. In 1981, RA said that in 30 years this planet would become harmonious for 4th-density experience. He said that in Brazil there is a saying, "Just because he is dead doesn't mean he knows anything." He said, "For me, the RA material has answered a tremendous number of questions. You return to the mind you had before you took this body." He said, "The reason so many ETs are here is because our transformation is the main event in this sector of the galaxy." He commented on three earthquakes that occurred in the past week, and said we will see geophysical change. He closed by saying, "If your information does not lead you to greater fullness of being, maybe it is not so useful." I highly recommend this audiotape. Mandelker is now director of a national seminar tour, Time of Global Shift. He has a website at www.universal-vision.com. On Saturday night six of the record 17 videos that entered in the "film" festival won EBE awards, and OUT OF THE BLUE, produced and directed by Tim Coleman and James Fox, was voted The Peoples Choice by the attendees. Our Director from the United Kingdom, Ken Seddington, cancelled his trip due to illness, so Robert Snook selected and supervised the panel of judges who watched all of the films. He also introduced producers that were present. The judges are greatly appreciated since many of the films started at 8 AM or 8 PM. CONTACT - WITH THE UNKNOWN INTELLIGENCE BEHIND CROP CIRCLES, produced and directed by Bert J. Janssen won Best UFO Documentary - Short Subject. OUT OF THE BLUE won Best UFO Documentary - Long Subject. IT FELL FROM THE SKY, produced and directed by Ted Loman, won for Best Historical UFO Documentary. THE COSMONAUT CONSPIRACY, produced and directed by Dr. Elliot Haimoff and Scott Stillman, won Best Non-UFO Documentary in a Related Field. RODS, produced and directed by Jose Escamilla, won Best Animation or Special Effects Within a UFO Program. CROP CIRCLES - THE ULTIMATE UNDERCOVER INVESTIGATION, produced and directed by Julian Gibsone, won Best Musical Score Within a Documentary. The banquet was a great social occasion and a good excuse to dress up. Many candid camera photos from the week were shown on the big screen during dinner. Michael Horn entertained us with his music. And everyone enjoyed one last get together before having to say good-bye to old and new friends, and journeying home the next morning. I truly appreciate the wonderful technical crew, the dedicated staff, the generous speakers, and especially Bob and Teri Brown who bring us together for a special week of fellowship and learning each year. We have dates blocked for the first full week of February at the new conference facility at the Flamingo Hotel in Laughlin for the next three years. I look forward to a great experience there 2-8 Feb 03, (Prices will start at $380 for the full conference package, including eight nights in the hotel. (There will not be a Summer conference this year, as the decision was made last year to make the Summer conferences an every other year event.)
