A LITTLE THING CALLED CONTROLLING PLANET EARTH

FEBRUARY 5. Several sources have told me over the last few months that the war against Iraq---and permanent control of the oil fields there---are connected to a potential US money crisis.

It goes this way: what happens if the OPEC nations all do what Saddam has already done---MOVE TO THE EURODOLLAR AS THE CURRENCY BASE FOR ALL OIL TRANSACTIONS?

As the US dollar has lost ground against the Eurodollar, Saddam has done very well.

If OPEC suddenly went to the Eurodollar, US money could take a very large hit.

In the abstract world of currency, it’s all about one nation’s paper money versus another nation’s paper.

So Saddam isn’t an enemy just for the reasons we’ve been hearing about. He’s also an enemy because he has taken the advice of money pros.

When a nation bases its prosperity on paper, that nation is vulnerable to shifts in what paper its trading partners favor at any given moment. Weird, but true.

The US and the EU have been in an economic war for some time. The total size of the EU economy is reportedly larger than the US economy.

So then---why are European nations slowly coming around to support the US war against Iraq? First of all, the operative world here is “slow.” And we don’t yet know the final tally. Second, the EU is considering that if the US does, in fact, take over the oil fields in Iraq, that might be the side to be on. And third, who knows what deals have been made to gain the backing of the EU nations? If the quid and quo are shaved just the right way, all sorts of hidden benefits will accrue to European countries. You can be sure the squeeze play is on. The EU is dealing from the top, middle, and bottom of the deck all at once to secure some fat juicy perks.

In the very long run, the EU and the US are being beefed up as global powers so that, when they eventually do a series of major merges, the resultant superstructure will be a juggernaut for the ages.

That’s the way the real game is played. Create opponents. Strengthen each side. Exacerbate the conflict. Force each side to expand its empire just to keep up. Engineer a merger that joins both “enemies” at the hip. Those who sit at the very top of that new entity will control more than they ever did.

If the US government is waging war against Iraq to strengthen its position vis-à-vis the EU, well, that’s a phase in this Big Game. And if the EU more or less becomes the US’s ally in this war, we would be looking at one of the major merges. Not just between the present US and EU, but those two forces PLUS Middle East oil.

Tony Blair represents those British elements (e.g., the Roundtable Group) which still see a future in which they re-colonize the Middle East. Against popular sentiment in his own country, Blair is sticking his neck out on this one. Of course, it’s unlikely that England is ever going to achieve that re-colonization---even with its money centers and its prime position in the global drug trade. The big winner is going to be a much larger entity, as I’ve just described. The Roundtable folks imagine they can thread their way through the US-EU dominance and come out on top in the decades ahead. Vegas odds are 70-30 against.

However, if one looks at England as a surrogate for the real powers inside the Vatican, then we are into different territory. Because the Vatican is one of those players that views the whole US-EU conflict as a grand opportunity. The militant arm of the Vatican has been encouraging the expansion of the EU and the US empires---seeing the day when it, the Vatican, will sit at the summit of the heap, carrying out its mission of placing “the temporal world” under the thumb of “the kingdom of God”---a kingdom it believes it runs.
