Why was Richard Perle meeting with Adnan Khashoggi?

At the peak of his deal-making activities, in the nineteen-seventies, the Saudi-born
businessman Adnan Khashoggi brokered billions of dollars in arms and aircraft sales
for the Saudi royal family, earning hundreds of millions in commissions and fees.
Though never convicted of wrongdoing, he was repeatedly involved in disputes with
federal prosecutors and with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and in recent
years he has been in litigation in Thailand and Los Angeles, among other places,
concerning allegations of stock manipulation and fraud. During the Reagan
Administration, Khashoggi was one of the middlemen between Oliver North, in the White
House, and the mullahs in Iran in what became known as the Iran-Contra scandal.
Khashoggi subsequently claimed that he lost ten million dollars that he had put up to
obtain embargoed weapons for Iran which were to be bartered (with Presidential
approval) for American hostages. The scandals of those times seemed to feed off each

her: a congressional investigation revealed that Khashoggi had borrowed much of the
money for the weapons from the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (B.C.C.I.),
whose collapse, in 1991, defrauded thousands of depositors and led to years of inquiry
and litigation.
Khashoggi is still brokering. In January of this year, he arranged a private lunch, in
France, to bring together Harb Saleh al-Zuhair, a Saudi industrialist whose family
fortune includes extensive holdings in construction, electronics, and engineering
companies throughout the Middle East, and Richard N. Perle, the chairman of the
Defense Policy Board, who is one of the most outspoken and influential American
advocates of war with Iraq.
The Defense Policy Board is a Defense Department advisory group composed primarily of
highly respected former government officials, retired military officers, and
academics. Its members, who serve without pay, include former national-security
advisers, Secretaries of Defense, and heads of the C.I.A. The board meets several
times a year at the Pentagon to review and assess the country's strategic defense
policies.
Perle is also a managing partner in a venture-capital company called Trireme Partners
L.P., which was registered in November, 2001, in Delaware. Trireme's main business,
according to a two-page letter that one of its representatives sent to Khashoggi last
November, is to invest in companies dealing in technology, goods, and services that
are of value to homeland security and defense. The letter argued that the fear of
terrorism would increase the demand for such products in Europe and in countries like
Saudi Arabia and Singapore........

Revealed: US dirty tricks to win vote on Iraq war
The NSA main switchboard put The Observer through to extension 6727 at the agency
which was answered by an assistant, who confirmed it was Koza's office. However,
when The Observer asked to talk to Koza about the surveillance of diplomatic
missions at the United Nations, it was then told 'You have reached the wrong
number'. On protesting that the assistant had just said this was Koza's extension,
the assistant repeated that it was an erroneous extension, and hung up.

On a bright May morning in 1944, while young Americans were dying on the Italian
beachheads, Thomas Harrington McKittrick, American president of the Nazi-controlled
Bank for International Settlements in Basle, Switzerland, arrived at his office to
preside over a fourth annual meeting in time of war. This polished American gentleman
sat down with his German, Japanese, Italian, British, and American executive staff to
discuss such important matters as the $378 million in gold that had been sent to the
Bank by the Nazi government after Pearl Harbor for use by its leaders after the war.
Gold that had been looted from the national banks of Austria, Holland, Belgium, and
Czechoslovakia, or melted down from the Reichsbank holding of the teeth fillings,
spectacle frames, cigarette cases and lighters, and wedding rings of the murdered Jews.
The Bank for International Settlements was a joint creation in 1930 of the world's
central banks, including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Its existence was
inspired by Hjalmar Horace Greeley Schacht, Nazi Minister of Economics and president
of the Reichsbank, part of whose early upbringing was in Brooklyn, and who had
powerful Wall Street connections. He was seconded by the all important banker Emil
Puhl, who continued under the regime of Schacht's successor, Dr. Walther Funk.
Sensing Adolf Hitler's lust for war and conquest, Schacht, even before Hitler rose to
power in the Reichstag, pushed for an institution that would retain channels of
communication and collusion between the world's financial leaders even in the event of
an international conflict. It was written into the Bank's charter, concurred in by the
respective governments, that the BIS should be immune from seizure, closure or
censure, whether or not its owners were at war. These owners included the
Morgan-affiliated First National Bank of New York (among whose directors were Harold
S. Vanderbilt and Wendell Willkie), the Bank of England, the Reichsbank, the Bank of
Italy, the Bank of France, and other central banks. Established under the Morgan
banker Owen D. Young's so-called Young Plan, the BIS's ostensible purpose was to
provide the Allies with reparations to be paid by Germany for World War I. The Bank
soon turned out to be the instrument of an opposite function. It was to be a mon!
ey funnel for American and British funds to flow into Hitler's coffers and to help
Hitler build up his machine.
The BIS was completely under Hitler's control by the outbreak of World War

Weasel words to watch for
'Inevitable revenge' - for the executions of Saddam's Baath party officials which no
one actually said were inevitable.
'Stubborn' or 'suicidal' - to be used when Iraqi forces fight rather than retreat.
'Allegedly' - for all carnage caused by Western forces.
'At last, the damning evidence' - used when reporters enter old torture chambers.
'Officials here are not giving us much access' - a clear sign that reporters in
Baghdad are confined to their hotels.
'Life goes on' - for any pictures of Iraq's poor making tea.
'Remnants' - allegedly 'diehard' Iraqi troops still shooting at the Americans but
actually the first signs of a resistance movement dedicated to the 'liberation' of
Iraq from its new western occupiers.
'Newly liberated' - for territory and cities newly occupied by the Americans or
British.
'What went wrong?' - to accompany pictures illustrating the growing anarchy in Iraq as
if it were not predicted.

Dunblane secret documents contain letters by Tory and Labour ministers

LETTERS between Labour and Tory ministers and correspondence relating to Thomas
Hamilton's alleged involvement with Freemasonry are part of a batch of more than 100
documents about the Dunblane mass murder which have been sealed from public sight for
100 years.
The documents include a letter connected to Hamilton, which was sent by George
Robertson, currently head of Nato, to Michael Forsyth, who was then Secretary of State
for Scotland.
Until now it was thought that a 100-year public secrecy order had only been placed on
one police report into Hamilton which allegedly named high-profile politicians and
legal figures. However, a Sunday Herald investigation has uncovered that 106
documents, which were submitted to the Dunblane inquiry in 1996, were also placed
under the 100-year rule.
The Scottish Executive has claimed the 100-year secrecy order was placed on the
Central Police report, which was drafted in 1991 five years before the murders, to
protect the identities of children named in the report. Hamilton had allegedly abused
a number of children prior to his 1996 gun attack on Dunblane primary school in which
16 primary one children and a teacher died before Hamilton turned his gun on himself.
However, only a handful of the documents, which the Sunday Herald has discovered to be
also subject to the 100-year rule, relate to children or name alleged abuse victims.
The most intriguing document is listed as: 'Copy of letter from Thomas Hamilton to
Dunblane parents regarding boys' club, and flyer advertising Dunblane Boys' Sports
Club. Both sent to Rt Hon Michael Forsyth, MP, Secretary of State for Scotland, by
George Robertson MP.' Also closed under the 100-year rule is a 'submission to Lord
James Douglas Hamilton, MP, Minister of State at the Scottish Office, concerning
government evidence to the Inquiry'.
Another document relates to correspondence between the clerk of the Dunblane inquiry,
which was presided over by Lord Cullen, and a member of the public regarding 'possible
affiliations of Thomas Hamilton with Freemasonry ... and copy letters from Thomas
Hamilton'.

8. BBC transmit evidence of Isreali use of Nerve Gas
At 11:20 pm on Monday 17th March 2003 BBC2 transmitted Olenka Frenkiel's TV
documentary 'Isreal's Secret Weapon' about Mordechai Vanunu who has spent 11 years in
solitary confinement for revealing Isreals advanced nuclear weapons programme to the
world. But in the documentary we saw pictures of hospitalised Palestinians convulsing
and twitching wildly after being subject to a mystery gas sprayed at themon the
streets by the IDF. The uncontrollable convulsions are a hideous but sure sign of the
use of nerve gas in the occupied territories.
This, to my knowledge, is the first time anywhere that Isreal's use of nerve gas in
