(CP) - A Canadian Alliance MP came to the scene of one of Canada's most notorious cases of child sexual abuse on Tuesday and promised to push federal authorities for an inquiry into the scandal of New Brunswick's Kingsclear Youth Training Centre. Peter Goldring, MP for Edmonton Centre-East, pointed towards the unremarkable brick building where hundreds of boys were sexually assaulted and traumatized and said there has been a coverup of what he believes was a pedophile ring. Only one person, Karl Toft, was convicted and sentenced to jail for crimes against children who were in his care as a guard at the reform school in the 1960s, 70s and 80s." ""There are over 700 victims who have no answers...." Toft, 67, is nearing the end of a 13-year jail sentence for 34 separate counts of child abuse, including sexual interference, buggery and sexual assault. Toft has admitted to assaulting as many as 200 boys who were in his care at the now-closed Kingsclear facility.
