-Caveat Lector-
Who does Goodyeer mean by "these people"?  (Incidentally, reminds me of LHO when he repeatedly spells etc. as ect.)  He's talking about Willie Nelson, who is my hero, and has been since I listened to his first album.  His songs are poetry.  Willie is the essence of the ideal of America and of Texas--the populist, anti-oligarchical ideal of the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.  That is the ideal that the shareholders of the old Pennsylvania-Texas petroleum establishment are out to destroy.

Who are these shareholders?  Who inherited the founding stock of these companies?  Take the Rockefellers and Mellons who controlled Pennsylvania crude in the late 1800s.  Bring them to Texas in 1901 when Spindletop erupted and marry them to the Stillmans (neighbors of King Ranch), the Farishes, the Rices, the Fondrens, Blaffers, Bakers and their moneyed crass but-no-class crowd of Dallasites and Houstonians.  Then have the next generation of mindless gluttons craving aristocratic legitimacy contribute a few millions through their trust funds and foundations, set up by their daddies to protect the family jewels, to Germans like Krupp and Thyssen angry over their daddies' mistreatment by the Paris Peace Conference of 1919.  These Germans had made bundles of money off the second war--Krupp steel factories churning out guns and Thyssen shipping companies, bankrupt by 1934, pumping up Adolph Hitler to get the economy going again by declaring war on the world.  In the process, the Krupp and Thyssen heirs made business deals and social ties with the Dulles clan, both Allen Dulles and the Thyssen son living in Bern in 1939 and after.  For 1939 was the year the putsch began and profits started to roll in.  There is indeed money in war.  Follow the money back to petroleum sources in Penn and Texas, then follow those branches into the partnerships and syndicates developed by the shareholders of the original companies--Gulf Oil, Standard Oil of NJ (Humble Oil of Texas).  That tells us who Dubya is working for, just like his daddy and granddaddy before him--the Nazi war machine.

The "bank," founded in 1924 by W. Averell Harriman on behalf of Thyssen and his Bank voor Handel en Scheepvaart N.V. of Holland, was Union Banking Corporation (UBC) of New York City. According to government documents, it was in reality a clearing house for a number of Thyssen-controlled enterprises and assets, including as many as a dozen individual businesses. UBC also bought and shipped overseas gold, steel, coal, and U.S. Treasury and war bonds. The company's activities were administered for Thyssen by a Netherlands-born, naturalized U.S. citizen named Cornelis Lievense, who served as president of UBC. Roland Harriman was chairman and Prescott Bush a managing director.  The Herald-Tribune article did not identify Bush or Harriman as executives of UBC, or Brown Brothers Harriman, in which they were partners, as UBC's private banker. A confidential FBI memo from that period suggested, without naming the Bush and Harriman families, that politically prominent individuals were about to come under official U.S. government scrutiny as Hitler's plunder of Europe continued unabated.....The Herald-Tribune article did not identify Bush or Harriman as executives of UBC, or Brown Brothers Harriman, in which they were partners, as UBC's private banker. A confidential FBI memo from that period suggested, without naming the Bush and Harriman families, that politically prominent individuals were about to come under official U.S. government scrutiny as Hitler's plunder of Europe continued unabated. The Walker-Harriman-created German industrial alliance also included partnership with another German titan who supported Hitler's rise, Friedrich Flick, who partnered with Thyssen in the German Steel Trust that forged the Nazi war machine. ...However, the government documents note that Bush, Harriman, Lievense and the other UBC stockholders were in fact "nominees," or phantom shareholders, for Thyssen and his Holland bank, meaning that they acted at the direct behest of their German client

through Union Banking Corporation (UBC), Prescott Bush, and his father-in-law, George Herbert Walker, along with German industrialist Fritz Thyssen, financed Adolf Hitler before and during World War II. It was first reported in 1994 by John Loftus and Mark Aarons in The Secret War Against the Jews: How Western Espionage Betrayed the Jewish People. ...On October 20, 1942, the U.S. government had had enough of Prescott Bush and his Nazi business arrangements with Thyssen. Over the summer, The New York Tribune had exposed Bush and Thyssen, whom the Tribune dubbed "Hitler's Angel." When the US government saw UBC's books, they found out that Bush's bank and its shareholders "are held for the benefit of ... members of the Thyssen family, [and] is property of nationals ... of a designated enemy country." ...On November 17, 1942, The US government also took over the Silesian American Corporation, but did not prosecute Bush for the reasons Higham noted earlier. The companies were allowed to operate within the Government Alien Property custodian office....After the war, the Dutch government began investigating the whereabouts of some jewelry of the Dutch royal family that was stolen by the Nazis. They started looking into books of the Bank voor Handel en Scheepvaart. When they discovered the transaction papers of the Silesian American Corporation, they began asking the bank manager H.J. Kounhoven a lot of questions. Kouwenhoven was shocked at the discovery and soon traveled to New York to inform Prescott Bush. According to Dutch intelligence, Kouwenhoven met with Prescott soon after Christmas, 1947. Two weeks later, Kouwenhoven apparently died of a heart attack. In 1980, when George H.W. Bush was elected vice president, he placed his father's family inherence in a blind trust. The trust was managed by his old friend and quail hunting partner, William "Stamps" Farish III. Bush's choice of Farish to manage the family wealth is quite revealing in that it demonstrates that the former president might know exactly where some of his inheritance originated. Farish's grandfather, William Farish Jr., on March 25th, 1942, pleaded "no contest" to conspiring with Nazi Germany while president of Standard Oil in New Jersey. He was described by Senator Harry Truman in public of approaching "treason" for profiting off the Nazi war machine. Standard Oil, invested millions in IG Farben, who opened a gasoline factory within Auschwitz in 1940. The billions "Stamps" inherited had more blood on it then Bush, so the paper trail of UBC stock would be safe during his 12 years in presidential politics.
When the worldwide economic crisis broke out in 1925, FSG had to master its next great difficulty. Although the Thyssen group had taken over a majority share in the yard at the beginning of the Twenties, it remained on the brink of bankruptcy for years. It was not possible to cover costs with newbuilding contracts and as from 1930 they fizzled out completely, together with the repair orders....When the ship newbuildings and repair orders started coming back again in 1934, the workforce swelled rapidly to 1,800 in 1939. Merchant shipbuilding soon died away entirely, as FSG was included in the construction programme of the Navy shortly after the outbreak of war. However, it proved to be stroke of luck that in 1943 FSG was taken up into the "Hansa" building programme, which aimed to compensate for the numerous war casualties with merchant shipbuilding to a uniform standard.  http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/05/10/1021002389465.html  May 11 2002  Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen- Bornemisza De Kaszon, who has died in Spain aged 81, was one of the richest men in Europe - his fortune has been estimated at more than £2 billion ($5.4 billion) - and the owner of one of the world's great art collections. When ''Heini" Thyssen inherited from his father, Heinrich, a vast collection of old masters, he thought there were ''already too many" ... Hans Heinrich Thyssen- Bornemisza de Kaszon was born at Scheveningen, near The Hague, in 1921, the fourth and youngest child of Heinrich von Thyssen, a wealthy German industrialist, and Margit Bornemisza, a Hungarian aristocrat. The family empire, founded on shipbuilding, coal, steel and iron, had been started by the baron's grandfather, August, who left his fortune to his two sons, Fritz and Heinrich, in 1926....Heini's parents, divorced when he was eight, but by his own account no-one told him of the break-up until three years later. His mother remarried, to a Hungarian diplomat, while his father moved to the Villa Favorita at Lugano. Heini began work in a Thyssen-owned bank in Rotterdam. But when the Germans invaded Holland in 1939 he was summoned by his father to Switzerland, where he studied law and economics at Fribourg and Bern. When his father died in 1947, Thyssen inherited, besides the picture collection, a business conglomerate which had suffered extensive damage during the war. All 12 Thyssen ships had been sunk; their Ruhr mines, Bremen shipyards and Rotterdam dockyards were all in ruins. The 26-year-old baron began rebuilding the empire, moving away from iron and steel to concentrate on shipbuilding, banking and a stake in the Heineken brewery in Holland, manufacturing and real estate in North America and sheep farming in Australia. The Thyssen- Bornemisza Group, run from Monaco and still controlled by the family, grew to employ 14,000 people around the world.

Well, let us see, Mr. Diesel, invented an engine that ran on peanut oil. He is soon dead and his engine is modified to run on petro-chemicals.

We could do a lot without oil. We have been coerced into the bs our country is mired in.

Your sight is blind. IMHO.

Maybe.

But what will Willie do without oil?

These people all complain about war for oil ect..

Yet they fly around in their private jets. Live in their fine houses. Use electricity, drive limos and cars and SUVs. Where the hell do they think this energy comes from?

IF anyone had seriously been interested in alternative energy they have found something by now.

Why havent these ultra rich people come up with a answer?

Instead of just mouthing off abt it.

I see both sides on this  are on the same side just being political against each other when the time is right. There is noone out there seriously trying to get alternative energy ready to use.
