Dear , When George Bush announced his “W Stands for Women” campaign, I was astonished and appalled. But now there's something we can do about it. I encourage you to take action below.
Bob Fertik, Co-founder
Democrats.comA few days ago, President Bush launched a new ad campaign aimed at securing women's votes called “W Stands for Women”.
The hypocrisy of this move is outrageous. "W" does stand for a lot of things, but women's rights is certainly not one of them! In fact, George W. Bush has waged an all-out war on women's rights and health ever since he took office.
Please join FreeChoiceSavesLives.org in speaking out against this hypocrisy. Click here now to send a free message telling Ken Mehlman (campaign manager for Bush-Cheney ’04) that "W" does not stand for women and you won’t stand for these ads!
With friends like President Bush, women really don't need enemies...
Bush’s first official act as President was to reinstate the devastating Global Gag Rule - a coercive policy that denies funding to foreign health care providers that educate women about their right to choose.
The Bush administration has also refused to release the crucial $34 million Congress has approved to fund the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), a life-saving organization that works to prevent HIV/AIDS and provides family planning and maternal health care to the world's neediest women and girls.
Not content to attack women’s rights abroad, the Bush administration also passed the so-called "partial-birth" abortion ban making it a crime for American women to have late-term abortions. And Reuters recently reported that the Bush administration has been systematically "stripping information on a range of women’s issue from government web sites and reports" to further its political agenda.
It’s bad enough that George W. Bush has done these things to endanger women’s lives, but it’s simply unacceptable for him to do so while claiming publicly that he "stands for women"! Join FreeChoiceSavesLives.org in speaking out against this dishonesty - click here to send your letter to Bush’s campaign manager now.
Then forward this message to your mom, your sister, your daughter, and your friends and ask them to do the same.
Thank you,
Eve Fox
