According to details, the fighting was fierce on both sides and both sides claimed to have surrounded the other side. The governor of puppet regime in Zabul, Jan Mohammad told Radio Tehran that they have killed 20 Taliban and captured 8 and that their forces have surrounded Taliban leaders Mullah Zakir, Mullah Bahar and Mullah Zarozi and 300 of their men. Taliban spokesman Mufti Lateef ullah Hakim rejected those claims as propaganda. "The Americans wanted to surround a village in area but our forces repulsed the attack and have surrounded the Americans and have killed 30 of Afghan and Americans soldiers" he said. Hakim also said that in another battle, 20 American and Afghan soldiers were killed and one Taliban was martyred and one wounded. Meanwhile, Afghan puppet officials are claiming that 13 Taliban have been killed and 10 others wounded in a search and destroy operation in Ouruzgan. The spokesman for the interior ministry Latf Ullah said that three afghan troops were wounded in that operation as well. So far we have been unable to confirm this report with independent sources. In another attack, Taliban Mujahideen destroyed two Afghan army vehicles that were escorting supply trucks and killed twelve soldiers in the process. The trucks were taking supplies to Paktia when 25 km from Gardez they were ambushed and the vehicles escorting the trucks were destroyed. The Taliban confiscated two containers full of supplies and took them to unknown locations. One container contained food while the other contained arms and ammunitions and uniforms. Daily Islam's reporter in Khost said that the Taliban then went the markets in Khost and distributed the foodstuff to the people. The American and their afghan allies will surely see their supplies again, but in the hands of Taliban. Finally, the Taliban denies any connection to Mullah Hashmi and deny that no Taliban has threatened the Pakistani NGOs or any such organization as being reported in mainstream press.
