Remember, too, bin Laden HATES the Saudi royals almost as much as he hates the United States. The princes kicked Osama out of the country. And seized millions of his assets. May 15, 2004For decades, the Saudi princes who rule the country have called America an ally. They know America butters their bread and keeps them in caviar. So they keep the pipelines open. But what happens if the Saudi royal family is no longer in control? Chaos.
And that's exactly what lies ahead.
The princes are losing their grip. Already the United States has ordered Americans to get out of Saudi Arabia. In April 2004 terrorist bombs killed 34 in downtown Riyadh... in May 2004,al Qaeda gunmen slaughtered four oil executives in Yanbu... and then 22 more in the oil city of Khobar. On that news, the price of oil shot up 2% in a SINGLE DAY.
Earlier this year, Saudi security found four tons of explosives hidden in cars around the capital. And across the desert nation, people rioted in the streets, calling for the fall of the royal family.
According to the World Tribune , the Saudi riots "came one step from being an actual attack on the royal family [itself]... and the family was in complete panic."
If they were scared then, they're even more scared now... Can our allies, the rich Saudi oil sheiks, be saved?
In the 1970s, we couldn't save the oil-rich government of Iran from falling to Khomeini's revolution. Secretly, the Pentagon is afraid we won't be able to save the House of Saud either.
The breakdown has already begun.
Outside the royal palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's 20 million fundamentalists live like it's the Middle Ages. Poor. Unemployed. Steeped in rhetoric. In the richest oil nation in the world, the average Arab lives on $7,500 per year.
Inside, wealth-squandering princes drink case after case of bourbon, take drugs, hire prostitutes and -- worst of all, in the eyes of the extremists -- make friendly with America. To the poor and the extremists, it looks like treason. The princes have become the enemy.
And revolution is at hand.
In the 1940s, when the Russians had an eye on Saudi oil fields, President Truman talked about dropping nukes.
Today, behind closed Pentagon doors, new plans are on the table. And putting U.S. Marines in the streets of Riyadh can't be ruled out. If or when that happens, the opportunity I've been telling you about begins. If you thought oil at $40 a barrel was high, guess again.
At stake -- 259 billion barrels of oil and 204 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. But even THIS is just the beginning. Because the crisis in Saudi Arabia has already started to spread elsewhere...
Iran: The facts are clear -- Iranians have no more love for America now than they did when they stormed the American embassy in the '70s. But one thing has changed. Now the Iranians are working on nukes of their own.
The most serious new danger? The CIA has connected anti-Western terrorists with Iran. What's more, the Iranians have also stepped up their own program of intervention in Saudi Arabia. They, too, want the princes out. The last time they had a grudge with a neighbor, they had an eight-year war with Iraq. This time, they won't wait to attack. If Saudi Arabia falls, Iran could be the first to try to take advantage of the chaos. In jeopardy -- 90 billion barrels of oil and 812 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

Almost all of those reserves are guarded by none other than Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. Does the name Chechnya ring any bells? Extremists are hiding in these rogue republics too. Some say it's Russia's problem. All that oil makes it America's problem too. Russia already has troops on high alert. The whole area is starting to look like a bonfire in a fireworks factory. At risk -- as much as 235 billion barrels of oil and about 40 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
Closer to widespread war

Even before U.S. bombs started dropping on Baghdad, Iraq's oil wells -- and their 112 billion barrels of oil -- were rigged with explosives. The Saudi media was already sitting on news of the street riots. And Iran was already making deals with terrorists.
