This section explores the Templar legend in recent history to the present. The Nazi party became obsessed with the mystery of the Templars.

Also, if one examines the names of the early members of the Nazi Party, there is a considerable overlap between a number of members who were known to have been active in such small occult groups and/or secret societies as the Thulegesellschaft Society, the Germanen Orden, and the Order of the New Templars. For example, Rudolph Hess and Alfred Rosenberg were both known to have been members of the Thule Society. And Dietrich Eckart to whom Hitler dedicated Mein Kampf, was known to have been active other organizations in addition to the Thule Society. So there is no question about whether or not Hitler made his company with known "occultists". He most certainly did.
Finally with regard to Hitler, it can probably be safely stated that since he not only made it a priority to gain possession of the Spear of Longinus (which is also known as the Spear of Destiny) that he was probably much more enamored with Christian relics than the extent to which he has heretofore been credited. ... It is a well known fact that Hitler admired Wagner very much, and of course, much of Wagner's work centers around the Grail. But for Hitler to have memorized the entire libretto, as the following caption confirms, tends to show him as having been a fanatic on the subject. And in connection with that fact, it is important to note that Trevor Ravenscroft, the author of The Spear of Destiny ended his search for the Holy Grail at the Sinclair family's Roslin Chapel in Scotland.
Baigent, Leigh, and Lincoln believe that the Merovingian bloodline is the actual bloodline of Christ himself, through Mary Magdalen, who they say went to France with Christ's children following the crucifixion to live out her final days! And interestingly enough, I found that the family name of one of the families listed by the authors of the book actually does equal 666 in Jewish gematria, Sinclair. And I also found some degree of confirmation for their belief that Mary Magdalen spent her final days in France in Grollier's Encyclopedia. (See the captured screen below). However, even though Mary Magdalen could have gone to France after the crucifixion, her presence there would hardly constitute proof that Jesus sired any children by her because she had to live someplace after Jesus was gone, and France was probably as good a place as any.

14 Members of Cult Killed by French Police

GRENOBLE, France (AP) - Two French policemen who belonged to a doomsday cult killed 14 drugged members, then committed suicide after setting themselves and the others on fire, a prosecutor said today.
The charred bodies of 14 members of the Solar Temple cult, including three young girls, were found Saturday in a remote forest outside the southeastern city of Grenoble. Their bodies were arranged in a star shape.
The Order of the Solar Temple, rooted in centuries old secret Roman Catholic societies, has members as far away as Australia. Investigations have reportedly failed to prove the sect's suspected links to money laundering and arms trafficking.

As the millennium rapidly approaches, this apocalyptic eurotrash cult has claimed 74 victims in three bizarre mass suicide rituals. Strangely, most of the members of the sect seem to be highly educated and well-to-do individuals. The Order itself stems from the Knights of Templar, a secretive medieval organization founded by French crusaders in Jerusalem. How it became a New Age Yuppie Suicide machine, remains a mystery.
The cult seems to give great importance to the sun. Their fiery ritual murder suicides are meant to take members of the sect to a new world on the star "Sirius." To assist with the trip, several of the victims, including some children, are shot in the head, asphyxiated with black plastic bags and/or poisoned. Luc and Joseph wrote, in a letter delivered after their deaths that they were "leaving this earth to find a new dimension of truth and absolution, far from the hypocrisies of this world."

SOLAR TEMPLE
(INTERNATIONAL CHIVALRIC ORDER SOLAR TRADITION)
The International Chivalric Order Solar Tradition was a destructive, doomsday cult founded by Luc Jouret in 1977. It adsorbed the Foundation Golden Way led by Joseph Di Mambro (1926-1995). Jouret convinced his followers that he was a member of the 14th Century Christian Order of the Knights Templar during a previous life, that his daughter Emanuelle was "the cosmic child", and that he would lead them after death to a planet which revolves around the star Sirius. They regard death as an illusion and that life continues on other planets. Solar Temple groups were organized in Australia, Switzerland, Quebec, Canada and other countries. They follow a form of Christianity mixed with New Age philosophy, homeopathic medicine and high finance. Jouret believed himself to be Christ. He ran into legal difficulties in Canada and was convicted of illegally possessing gun silencers.
The leadership felt that the Solar Temple was being persecuted by various governments. They anticipated the immanent end of the world due to an environmental catastrophe, and felt that they were to play a major role in the collapse. They decided that some members should leave the earth prematurely and "transit" to a better world. Fire forms an important part of their belief. They believe that the world will end in fire. In order for them to transit to another world, they must die in a fire.

And the Crisis of the Modern World
One of the greatest historical agents for the preservation and propagation of Tradition in the West was the Order of the Knights Templars founded in 1119 between the first and second Crusades. There is substantial evidence that the Templars had contact with the underground primitive Christians. Indeed, we know that St Bernard of Clairvaux, who revised and approved the Statutes of the Templar Order, was acquainted with esoteric Christianity. The Templars dedicated themselves to the restoration of the original Apostolic Church, setting up a bulwark against the abuses of the impostor regime in Rome, with its cruel and despotic Inquisitors.
Of the Order of the Knights Templars Luc Benoist writes:
"All chivalric initiation possesses by definition an esoteric character, but the title given to the new Order was particularly revealing. In the Western world where Judaeo-Christian tradition was dominant, an Order which took as its emblem the Temple of Solomon would be seen to be aware of the unity at the higher level of the three religions which acknowledged Abraham as their father. Naturally, the members of the Order would have had other relations with the Muslims of the new kingdom than warlike ones. In fact, in Jerusalem the Templars occupied the El Aksa mosque and for more than a century were in daily contact with the Arabs.
"Furthermore, as these Knights were members of a religious order, their name 'guardians of the Holy Land' assumed a higher meaning. We know that each of the different authentic Traditions has its own Holy Land, counterpart of the ideal Holy Land, symbol of the Primordial Traditionitself. In the case of the Templars the city of Jerusalem was not only the centre of Mosaic tradition but also the image of the spiritual state for which it stood. We can easily understand how in these conditions the temporal and regal power was alarmed by a fraternization between Christians and Muslims which transcended all doctrinal differences."50
At Chartres in France the Knights Templar sponsored the construction of a grand cathedral with a magnificent stone carving and beautiful stained glass window that pay homage to Melchizedek, father of the eternal priesthood....
...The use of powerful mystical signs and symbols by the Knights Templar is testimony to their world historical mission as an authentic militant Order of Warrior-Sages inthe service of the Great Tradition. The four fixed emblems or standards of the Templars were the Lion, the Man, the Ox, and the Eagle. These were also the fixed standards of ancient Israel and they are seen as the fixed signs of the Zodiac.
Adhering to the Way of all true militant spiritual Orders they saw their destiny and mission in terms of the Kingdom of God, the universal theocracy. A first step to which was to encourage the esoteric co-operation between Islam and Christianity through reference to the Primordial Tradition. Set apart for a holy purpose, strengthened and disciplined by spiritual training and devoted to the Ancient Wisdom, the Order of the Knights Templars were a real threat to the corrupt Establishment of their day. The Templars, Eliphas Levi said, "threatened the whole world with an immense revolution." Like their brethren, the Gnostic Christians of earlier times, the Knights Templar fell victim to a vicious conspiracy of Church and State. Envious of the popular following enjoyed by the Templars and thirsting for their property and riches, Pope Clement V and the King of France launched a campaign of burning and torture against the Order. The suppression of the Templars in the 14th century by fire and sword signalled the steady decline of the impulse of the Primordial Tradition. Again, for a time, the ancient teachings were preserved in secret and the Christian Gnosis maintained by secret societies and local mystical groups. Henceforth an intensifying process of spiritual atrophy set in throughout the West. This in turn led to the growth of towns, and later to the growth of capitalist exploitation, and its creation of an industrial labouring class. Christianity, without its essence, became a cold, emasculated creed devoid of spiritual vitality. A slow cancer had taken firm hold of European Christendom.
What does all this have to do with the crisis of the modern world? Not only does the suppression of the Templars correspond roughly with the start of the process of putrification, it also marks the end of one of the greatest historically identifiable Orders that manifested in the world, by action and ideal, the Ancient Wisdom Tradition. John Hargrave stated: "These Templars carried an idea - the idea of Militant Christendom. They moved the masses to action."54
