-Caveat Lector-

If this is going to be against Federal law, why can't there be an injunction issued by
a Federal court against it? The Kerry campaign is truly asleep if they don't jump on
this one. If the US Government can suppress the latest Civil Rights Commission report
(or, more accurately, public discussions thereof) on the grounds that it might
unfairly affect the US Presidential election, then they can sure as hell stop this
injustice too!

Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner of the largest chain of television stations in the
nation, plans to air a documentary that accuses John Kerry of betraying American
prisoners during the Vietnam War, the Washington Post reported Monday. By airing this
documentary so close to the presidential election, Sinclair is trying to manipulate
the outcome of the election because of the broadcaster's documented ties to the
current administration.

Sinclair is the same group that refused to air the Nightline Memorial Day tribute to
the soldiers killed in Iraq, because they considered it a political statement. The
network has ordered all 62 of its stations to air "Stolen Honor, Wounds that Never
Heal" next week during prime time.

Sinclair's 62 stations are in 39 television markets and reach approximately 24 percent
of all television households in the United States. The stations include 20 Fox, 19
WB, 6 UPN, 8 ABC, 3 CBS, 4 NBC, and 2 independents.

Sinclair's plan to air anti-Kerry propaganda before the election is an abuse of the
public airwaves for what appears to be partisan political purposes. It is also likely
a violation of broadcast regulations requiring equal time for political candidates as
well as the McCain-Feingold campaign finance laws.

Now is the time for us to join our voices together to object to this injustice. There
are five main actions you can take to protest this abuse of the public airwaves. The
cumulative effect of each and every act will make a bold statement that the American
public is not going to tolerate this flagrant abuse for partisan political purpose.
So even if you only have time for one email or phone contact, please do it and make
your voice heard in this effort. Every action taken -- no matter how small -- will
help.

I. Contact the FCC or the Federal Election Commission to lodge your complaint about
the apparent violation of the equal time provisions and the McCain-Feingold campaign
finance laws:

II. Contact individual Sinclair stations. Get the entire list complete with email
addresses at:

Sinclair has stations in Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky,
Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New York, North
Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia,
West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

III. Contact Sinclair corporate headquarters at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

IV. If you live in one of the areas served by a Sinclair Station, contact the on-air
commercial sponsors to lodge your protest directly with them.

V. Contact the networks involved to voice your disapproval of the Sinclair group using
the network affiliates to abuse the public airwaves for partisan political purposes.
