Today, ranking House member Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (D-NY) pimp-slapped DHS for deciding to extend its $21 million annual contract with Shirlington Limousine, the preferred slut shuttle of jailed congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham. Defense contractor Mitchell Wade, who has confessed to bribing Cunningham, reportedly told investigators that San Diego businessman Brent Wilkes had Shirlington chauffeur Cunningham and assorted prostitutes (of as-yet undetermined gender) to the Watergate and Westin Grand allegedly for orgiastic poker matches. Cunningham so enjoyed his time on the 'tang express, he even wrote a letter of recommendation that helped the company nab its multimillion dollar DHS deal. Shirlington president Christopher Baker, who Harper's reported has a 62-page criminal rap sheet from 1979-1989, denies any connection to said congressional pay for play. Meanwhile, Shirlington operates more shadily than Wesley Snipes, with multiple names and addresses listed in its corporate documents. "Shirlington has consistently met its contractual obligations," a DHS spokesperson told the AP, though that wasn't the experience of the Pentagon's National Defense University, which booked Shirlington for an annual trip to Gettysburg, where students would walk the battlefields and consider historic military strategy. Shirlington coaches never showed up, and NDU didn't pay the bill. Rep. Slaughter, in a letter currently on its way to DHS chief Michael Chertoff, again hammers the agency for ignoring her concerns since May, and says, "I am deeply troubled that DHS would continue a relationship with a company allegedly entangled in a disgraceful corruption scandal with a former member of Congress who is already serving jail time for separate charges of accepting bribes." The DHS is in good company. Shirlington has also won a $142,000 HUD contract and a $519,823 Federal Highway Administration bid. Grass, gas, or ass, nobody rides for free.
