BOOZ ALLEN HAMILTON TO PREPARE FEASIBILITY STUDY OF REGIONAL
INNOVATION ZONE PROJECT

US Booz Allen Hamilton company conducted a presentation January 17
at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Booz
Allen Hamilton, the international management and technology
consulting firm, will prepare the feasibility study of the regional
innovation zone project.
Minister Ali Abbasov said that the main objective of the project is
to create the innovative environment for production of software and
electronic equipment and promotion of export, organize the
international Data Center, encourage technological innovation by
supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, develop human
resources for information and high technologies and create the
favorable climate for foreign investments.
This project is of great importance for both Azerbaijan and the
whole Caspian region as the factor attracting global investments to
the high technologies sector, opening new jobs.
R. Bernat, vice-president of Booz Allen Hamilton told of the
company’s operations. The company, which has recently opened its
office in Baku, is one of the world’ leading companies offering
consulting services.
This company developed innovation strategy for some countries,
strategy of economic development for the United Arab Emirates and
multimedia super corridor in Malaysia.
US. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse highly assessed
Azerbaijan’s desire to become a regional innovation center and
expressed her satisfaction that Azerbaijan government chose this
firm as a consultant. She said there is the US-Azerbaijan
memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the ICT sector.
Advisor at the Ministry of Communications and Information
Technology Dian Landau and Booz Allen Hamilton representatives
responded to the questions of presentation participants.
The company is scheduled to prepare a set of proposals on
establishment of the regional innovation zone for further
submission to the government’s consideration.
