Subject: Last Word on Religion

Only two monotheistic, mutually antagonistic religions exist on earth in which all human beings believe.

The first is US-ianity, whatever provincial religion a person was born into and grew up surrounded by. The other is THEM-ism, which is what everyone who isn't like oneself or one's neighbors believes in.

The True, All-Powerful God of US-ianity and the Lying, Conniving Devil of THEM-ism are each defined almost totally and exclusively by the believer's idiosyncratic local customs, language, history, race and gender.

Whatever rational or philosophical tenets may accompany the practice of these religions are reduced to the parroted-words monkey-chatter that passes for abstract objective thought in who can only mimic it, and any logical contradictions that arise between those tenets and how they impact actual practice goes long unrecognized, and requires no reconciliation, because believers possess no mind capable of noticing them. In actual practice, the rational and philosophical basis attached to either of these religions is irrelevant and superfluous to their true aims, which are dedicated to self-interest, self-delusion, and personal vanity, made to appear less "self-ish" by being SHARED, mirror-like, by other selves in one's community functioning similarly, i.e., at their lowest common denominator, in order to widen the range of mutual self-interest.

Animals in herds or packs worship their own god, Survival and Suffering, in exactly the same way -- but human beings disparagingly, call that "Instinct," and feel superior. Because only human beings, being unique as "rational" animals, give their gods imaginative names and ascribe to them abstract qualities, magical, supernatural or "spiritual" (depending on the degree of complexification of their linguistic talent) --never realizing that when they believe a Word is a Thing, they take the first step toward losing the gift of "reason" that elevated them above animals and begin a long, cumulative descent into a form of insanity (dissociation from reality) that makes them not only less "human" (from confusing speech with thought, words with reason) but inferior to animals in the latter's ability to survive in the real and wordless world.
