Are explanations that invoke one or more arbitrarily/infinitely
complex supernatural entities/forces useful?  Are such explan-
ations more likely to be correct than simpler materialistic
explanations?  If some phenomena can't be explained by material
means now, does that mean that they can NEVER be so explained?

Once you've invoked magic to explain something, you're stuck,
aren't you?  You've said that there's some inexplicable mystery
there, some singularity that's not amenable to further inquiry.
Now you're at a dead end.  Good scientific theories always make
predictions, pointing to new areas of inquiry, new avenues to
explore.  Magic, religion, just stop cold, leaving you to do
noting but worship or vegetate or masturbate.  Bother.
