-Caveat Lector- WHERE IS CONSPIRACY NATION!? ============================ (CNNS, 05/17/99) -- I can hear it already: "Where is Conspiracy Nation!? I haven't heard anything new from Conspiracy Nation!" The answer to such anticipated alarms is that the editor is moving to a different apartment. That means he had to disconnect the computer to move. That means he had to get a new phone connection. Moving takes time. That's why no new stories. It also may be a good time for the editor to take a vacation from Conspiracy Nation and the Internet. Maybe a short vacation; maybe a long vacation. A good suggestion is to grab whatever articles you want to save from the Conspiracy Nation web site: http://www.shout.net/~bigred/cn.html Conspiracy Nation began in June 1993. At that time, it was called "Conspiracy for the Day" (a twist on "Thought for the Day"). Conspiracy for the Day was re-named "Conspiracy Nation" around March 1994. It has continued publishing various conspiracy stories since that time. Should I decide to move on (at least for awhile), I want to publicly thank the many good people who have assisted my efforts. If I forget to mention you, I'm sorry. Conspiracy Nation has been a co-operative effort. Without input from friends, colleagues and readers, there'd have been no Conspiracy Nation. The following people have been especially helpful: ** Sherman Skolnick of the Citizens' Committee to Clean Up the Courts. Sherman has been my main guide and teacher, though at times I've disagreed with him. ** "Ru Mills" (pseudonym) has been another excellent guide. She, like Skolnick, is often way ahead of the parade, with far-sighted vision. ** Kenn Thomas of Steamshovel Press magazine and author of several books has consistently, from the beginning, offered encouragement. ** "Rhea Fortean" (pseudonym) has bounced ideas back and forth and CNation has relied on her keen observations. ** Robert Sterling of the Konformist, who gives hopeful evidence that Generation X are not all dumbed down. He carries the torch to future generations. ** "The Knights" I thank for giving me a good laugh. ** I thank "the anonymous author" for his interesting views on the Lincoln assassination and on the life of Jesse James. ** Thanks to John DiNardo, "spiritual godfather" of CNation. John's pioneering reports on Internet first gave me the idea, in 1993, that, "Hey... I could do something like that!" ** Thanks to "Mr. Mercedes" (pseudonym) for sharing his inside information. ** Thanks to "Roland Rocket" (pseudonym) for sharing his inside information. ** Thanks to Joe C. of Chicago, for sending me videotapes of Sherman Skolnick's "Broadsides" television show. ** Thanks to Joseph Andreucetti, for his insights. ** Thanks to Al Hiddel, of Paranoia magazine, for free copies. ** Thanks to Clayton Douglas of Free American magazine, for free copies. ** Thanks to my late father, who was patient with a rebellious son. ** Thanks to whatever God has kept sending great teachers into my life. "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." ** Thanks to readers of CNation. People ask, "What can I do?" Just by reading you're doing more than if you were watching TV. ** Thanks to local independent newscasters Carl Estabrook and Paul Mueth, of "News From Neptune," for their ideas. ** Thanks to any I forgot to mention. After all this melodrama, I may decide to continue after all with CNation. In case I don't, it's been a tremendous learning experience for me.
