   I thought we went over this before. Wasn't it established that Davis was
a member of a Presbeterian church in Richmond. I believe the only basis for
this theory that he was Catholic was that he had attended a school with
Catholic ties for a short time in his youth. Am I mistaken? I really have a
hard time believing that the President of the Confederacy was Catholic.
After all, Catholic priests were recruiting soldiers to fight for the Union
in Ireland and Canada. I have a friend whose ancestor from Canada fought for
the Union and he says that many others did the same.
