WASHINGTON, June 4 (UPI) - Human resistance to antibiotics is a growing
medical problem and scientists are warning (Friday) the same antibacterial
drugs fed to livestock as growth stimulants are making matters worse. The
Union of Concerned Scientists also is calling on the FDA to prohibit the
use of antibiotics in animals for anything but medical purposes.
