-Caveat Lector- Over the weekend, I had an opportunity to read David M. Jacobs's book, "The Threat: The Secret Alien Agenda." What makes the book rather intriguing is that Dr. Jacobs is a respected historian at Temple University, not exactly the kind of individual you would associate with UFO research. According to Dr. Jacobs, the earth is being invaded by a race of alien-human hybrids who seek to dominate the planet. In his study of over seven hundred cases involving alien-human contact, a disturbing pattern is revealed. The aliens are interested in collecting human sperm and eggs in order to further a genetic breeding program that he believes presents a threat to human existence. Of course, so far, establishment critics have argued that abductees are suffering from false memory syndrome, but Jacobs counters that the abduction experience does not fit into the conventional pattern associated with false memory. And traditional psychological interpretations (attributing the abduction experience to sexual fantasies, wish fufillment, displacement, etc.) are inadequate to explain the kind of terror that abductees report. Jacobs discovered that abductees were often given pleasant "screen memories" to mask what are terrifying ordeals. After over twenty-five years of conducting UFO research, he has reached the conclusion that the reality behind the UFO phenomena is not a particularly benign one. The amount of hard physical evidence testifying to the reality of UFOs is undeniable, but he believes that researchers are unable to escape their own anthropomorphic biases when dealing with the phenomena. It is hard for human beings to accept the fact that aliens might have little interest in our culture, our values or our existence as autonomous beings. Their lies and secrecy,(patterns of deception that a number of researchers have commented upon--Vallee, Keel, Fort, etc.) mask an agenda which has nothing to do with human concerns/human preoccupations. According to Dr. Jacobs, the "space brothers" are here because they want the place. A large scale invasion akin to that portrayed in the movie Independence Day would be too costly and is unnecessary. Instead, the aliens favor a "stealth" approach. Although he doesn't give documentation, Dr. Jacobs claims that the infiltration of earth by aliens began in the 1890s, and has been taking place throughout the century. Of course, his theory might be completely absurd...but then again, one wonders. DECLARATION & DISCLAIMER ========== CTRL is a discussion and informational exchange list.
