HOLLYWOOD REJECTS HILLARY MOVIE

**Exclusive**

After serious consideration, America's major TV networks have taken a pass
on making a movie on the life of Hillary Rodham Clinton, the DRUDGE REPORT
has learned.

The project, based on David Brock's book THE SEDUCTION OF HILLARY RODHAM,
was shopped to the majors -- with actress Susan Sarandon, at one point,
expressing interest in the title role!

CBS-TV passed on the project after one detailed pitch meeting last year,
according to sources.

[It was believed that CBS president Les Moonves' close relationship with
the Clintons was at conflict.]

The pitch quickly moved to ABC, where, after a series of meetings, things
looked like a possible go.

Actress Holly Hunter was even considered a runner-up to play Hillary
Clinton if Sarandon became unavailable for the project, proposed as a
possible mini-series.

But ABC also ended up cooling on the idea of making a movie on the life of
Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Several negative factors were working against the project:

*The perception that political movies turn audiences off [BULWORTH, PRIMARY
COLORS].

*The controversy of developing a movie based on the first lady of the
United States while she is still living in the White House.

But in Hollywood, what is down one season -- turns up the next.

As the nation's media is hopelessly addicted to covering Hillary's campaign
run for the U.S. Senate [two front page stories on HRC in the WASHINGTON
POST in the past 4 days; magazine covers; Sunday morning shows reaching
complete saturation on the topic] -- new interest in the Hillary movie
could follow.

["Hillary should play herself... she would be terrific," said one network
executive recently.]

BRITISH PAPER FINDS WORLD'S MOST WANTED THIEF: FRANKEL

The world's most wanted thief has told the EXPRESS newspaper in London how
he is planning to live out his life beyond the reach of the law!

In Tuesday editions, the EXPRESS releases its exclusive file on fraudster
Martin Frankel, who fled America in early May and has since evaded the FBI.

Frankel is believed to have stolen millions, if not billions, from
insurance companies. He has been in secret negotiations with an undercover
EXPRESS reporter in an attempt to secure his escape, the paper reveals in
its front page scream.

Frankel, who vanished two months ago, wanted a private jet and a British
passport that would take him to a country which has no extradition
agreement with the USA.

Reports the EXPRESS' Michael Gillard:

"In an elaborate sting, the EXPRESS managed to obtain details of his false
identities and a copy of the passport photo he planned to use. We arranged
for a private jet to fly Frankel from Germany to northern Cyprus. Our aim
was to ensure he was arrested as soon as he boarded the plane, but he
pulled back from the deal at the last moment.

"Last week he made it clear he was not about to hand himself in. 'No way.
I'm not doing any deal,' he said. Despite shifting more than £40 million
through Italian and Vatican accounts, he last week claimed that he had
access to less than £250,000. 'Don't believe everything you hear,' he
declared when quizzed about the missing millions."

Frankel told the paper that he was driving through Italy accompanied by a
woman, using two false passports.

Last Wednesday Frankel called to suggest a meeting with the undercover
reporter in Munich. But on Thursday, he called to cancel the meeting. A
keen astrologer, he explained: "It's a bad day for me. It has to be
tomorrow," was all he would say.

"His stars were right. If he had been there, he would have been arrested,"
says the paper, which has now decided that is handing all of its
information to Scotland Yard to pass to the FBI.

EVEN MORE CHRIS MATTHEWS?

CNBC's superhost Chris Matthews never appears to have enough time to finish
his thoughts during his one hour talkshow HARDBALL.

Solution: Give him more time!

The DRUDGE REPORT has learned that sister network MSNBC is set to launch a
new Matthews program in the upcoming months -- a move that could guarantee
Matthews 90 minutes of peacock, five peacock days a week.

[The development would lift Matthews to an air time match with his CNBC
rival Geraldo Rivera. Matthews has been beating Rivera in the ratings in
recent weeks.]

MSNBC is set to blow up its current prime schedule, according to industry
sources.

TODAY show host Matt Lauer will soon launch a new show for the all-news
channel featuring "vaulting" -- an inexpensive production style that uses
archived video clips. Lauer is winking at FOX NEWS CHANNEL's Bill
O'Reilly. Plans call for Lauer to compete at 8 PM ET. One blueprint calls
for EQUAL TIME to shrink from its current 60 minutes to 30 minutes where it
will be paired with the new Matthewsmania during the 6 PM ET hour.

BUSH CAMPAIGN'S SECURITY BILL GOING TO TEXAS TAXPAYER

Why is George W. Bush, awash in campaign riches, not paying his campaign
security tab instead of leaving it to Texas taxpayers?

A question the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN's Mike Ward is asking in fresh
editions.

According to publishing sources, Ward has been pressing, pressing and
pressing Bush campaign officials for answers.

During his recent coast-to-coast campaign swings, Bush's cadre of
bodyguards have been provided by the "Texas Department of Public Safety
officers and Texas Rangers, and Texans are footing the bill," reports Ward.

"How much is all the additional cross-country travel costing Texas
taxpayers? That information is confidential, officials say."

No matter what the cost, a Bush campaign spokeswoman tells the paper that
"it's not out of the ordinary."

"When [Democrat ex-governor] Ann Richards traveled for political reasons
for Bill Clinton in one of his races, the protective detail followed her,
as well," explains the campaign's Mindy Tucker. "It's common for them to
protect the governor whether he is in the state or not."

[Controversy recently erupted around First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton's
use of Air Force jets for campaign swings.]

Bush campaign official do concede to the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN that
security force around Bush have recently increased in size because of
Bush's increasing travel schedule.

Mike Ward's getcha did not quite materialize into a gotcha.

Under federal law, Secret Service protection is only afforded "major
presidential candidates" -- usually about the time primaries are held.
