There's no question that it is true; however please don't think that women in
a Muslim country are treated in this way. The Taliban are not true Muslims.
Mohammed liked and respected women. His instructions to them were that a
woman should cover her hair, her arms and draw her robe across her bosom when
abroad among strangers. The Koran has a long list of male relatives before
whom she need not cover. The Taliban have invented a religion of their own.
It is not unusual in this world for men to take their principal pleasure in
the ill treatment of women. The Taliban are just a society of that kind of
men. One of Mohammed's wives was an Imam. He would never have approved of
the Taliban's treatment of their women. Mass suicide among Taliban women
would not change the minds of their sadistic oppressors, but it would at
least prevent descendents from carrying on the heresy. Prudy
