Many "sweatshops" in Asia already have their workers sleeping and eating on-site in company-owned "dormitories," surrounded by barbed wire fences and security. Even short of martial law, a stock market collapse would be ideal as justifying creation of a somewhat more sinister form of Depression-era "Public Work" compounds for the millions of newly unemployed -- the only way to obtain shelter and three meals a day.
