Freemasonry has continually tried to penetrate the
Vatican and the Vatican has continually tried to
penetrate Freemasonry.
Furthermore there are two opposing forces within
Freemasonry U.K./American/Anglo-Saxon & French/
European.
The U.K./U.S./Ango-Saxon branch for the most part
does not recognize French/European and terms
them derisively "clandestine".
The French/Europeans point out that they came
first so who are the Anglo-Saxons to be granting
or withdrawing recognition.
In many European countries their are Both Grand Lodges
operating that are recognized by the U.K./U.S. and
Grand Orients that are not.
This point is somewhat obtuse (as everything tends to
be in the weird and opaque world of freemasonry) but
it is a critical one as when/if you get into a discussion
with U.S./U.K. Freemasonry surrounding P-2 they
will often dismiss your query outright by saying that
isn't freemasonry but a clandestine body.
There are two "official" governing bodies of Freemasonry
in Italy, neither recognizes the other.
P-2 was set up by the Grand Orient of Italy (which
was then not recognized by United Grand Lodge
of England/U.S. [but now is]).
"The P-2 originated in the late nineteenth century, so named to
distinguish it from the existing (and by masonic standards) open
Propaganda lodge, based in Turin. From the outset it was an
anomaly, conceived as a special lodge for masons in particularly
delicate or important positions. Accordingly, it dispensed with elab-
orate initiation ceremonies, and handed exceptional discretionary
powers to it's Venerable Master. He could decide who would be
enrolled, and he alone would know the full list of members. Not
surprisingly, when the P-2 scandal washed over Italy in the spring of
1981, many of those whose names featured on the lists of the 962
members claimed, with likely justification, that they had no idea of
who else was in the lodge, and indeed that they were unaware of
having joined at all."

Chicago born Roman Catholic Bishop Paul Marcinkus, Chairman
of the Instituto per le Opere di Religione (IOR), the Vatican bank,
since 1971. Pro-President, or "mayor", of the Vatican City State
since 1981. He also was Pope John Paul II closest advisor and
his front man on many of his overseas visits.
He was deeply involved in the P-2 scandal serving on all the
Boards of this spiders web of consortiums. In fact the
Banco Ambrosiano (then largest private bank in Italy) was
simply the front for the Vatican Bank (and visa versa).
Many Magistrates and Inspectors at the Bank of Italy were
murdered by the Red Brigade Terrorists which may have
simply been a front for Extreme Right Wing forces in Italy
when they started investigating this criminal conspiracy
that was creating phoney share values and using the
funds to bankroll and control all of Italy's political parties
(except the communists).
Amazingly enough when the going started getting hot
for them (Bankers/P-2) they transferred much of their
offshore interest from the Bahamas to Managua
Nicaragua. This group was chummy with Somosa
but also as it turns out with the Sandanista's, providing
them with large "loans" ostensibly for "grain seed".
When the Sandanistas took over two years later they
nationalized every bank except Banco Amrosiano
(which was controlled by the IOR (the Vatican Bank).
I think it shows that most of the Red Brigade Terrorist
activity in Europe was simply a canard, a straw man
for extreme right wing forces so they could justify
their agenda and increase popular support - a
boggie man if you will.
The same is likely true for the Sandanistas who
were the boogie man for Reagan & Company's
gargantuan military budget increases.
The C.I.A. and the Mafia were also deeply involved
in the Banco Ambrosiano/Franklin Bank of U.S/
P-2 Freemasons Lodge scandal as well of
course as the Vatican.
There is no democracy, it is all a collossal fraud.
