Whether you are a fan of democracy or socialism or any other theoretical
social system, nothing you try to implement will work as well as it does on
paper because no matter what system we use, what will make or break it is
whether or not we see to it that we have an informed voting public. In the
former Soviet Union, AS IN THE PRESENT DAY UNITED STATES, there was no
informed voting public - and there isn't here now. If you are for true
representative goverment, then you must be for representative socialism over
non-representative ANYTHING. I REPEAT: the issue we need to be tackling is
the one of an informed vs. an uninformed voting public. I submit that
either democracy or socialism would function better than anything we have
known if we work on that one issue.
