Steve's Cookie Intelligence (SCI)
According to the July 19, 1999 issue of _Aviation Week & Space Technology_,
Wickman Spacecraft & Propulsion Co. of Wickman, Wyoming, has successfully
tested rocket and turbojet engines that use carbon dioxide as an oxidizer.
As you can imagine, since CO2 is used terrestrially to put *out* fires, this
requires an unusual fuel -- powdered magnesium. Magnesium is abundant on
Earth and "is believed to exist in the soil on Mars." Which is the whole
point. CO2 is 95% of the atmosphere on Mars, and the engines are intended
for use in a small flying rover called the "Mars Airplane."

were caused by reentry of a booster rocket launched by the Thog
Alliance..."]
