The last time I checked, Panama was NOT a state. It might even be an
independent SOVEREIGN country. Just like the good ol' US of A.
It's THEIR canal and you have nothing to say about it. Neither does
the Eagle Forum. If it's strategic to the USA, then we should treat them
nicely and not invade them for the third or fourth time this century.
Then maybe they will let us use their canal.
As for the Chinese, I think we should concern ourselves with dealing with
the businessmen and politicians who are selling our security for profit
to the equally corrupt elites of P.R.China. That's something that IS your
business, and it's something you can do something about.
This petition is irrelevant. They are legally bound to turn over the
canal. But legalities have never stopped the ruling elites from doing
anything they ever wanted to do. Dismembering and then attacking Yugoslavia
comes to mind. The Gov. is setting up another covert war in Columbia to
establish a military presence in that region with easy access to the Canal
anytime they want to take it back or assert control. It's also a convenient
spot to threaten Venezuela in case they get the ridiculous idea that the
country's oil wealth should stay in Venezuela. Some colonies just never
learn.
