Polic entered this neighborhood and fired INDISCRIMINATELY at anyone and everyone in sight. They came to the corner of our block and were shouted back by angry residents, but after retreating to the QFC parking lot one block away they again began discharginhg gas canisters. The area was saturated with pepper spraty and gas. One young woman who had been sprayed said she was standing there..her dad is a cop, her brother a cop, she had wanted to be a policewoman. Peter said he had seen the young man get kicked and sprayed. He said he was being vocally provocative, but not otherwise violent. Here's the bad news. Paul is missing. I truly believe he has been arrested. His son Peter went out with him. It has been over an hour since I have seen them.The piolice are tens of blocks outside their designated curfew area in this neighborhood and yet they continue to turn and fire gas and pepper canisters at the crowd following them down toward the curfew barricades. The crowd has shouted them to leave many many times. Telling them to take their HATE out of our neighborhood. Many buildings are boarded up on Broadway. The crowd has dispersed in many directions and as many of the people I saw are neighborhood people with no place to go, this could be a rather circular exercise. I am going out again to see if I can find word of Paul. I will have to come in soon as I have been propositioned by a really high street kid of about 17 and offered a "blast" from another. It is my neighborhood and I will be ok (except from the Police...I am wearing their favorite color, anarchist black) there are very many people that I see every day. My hands are stinging from the pepper spray, I have been gassed at least five times standing within two blocks of my home peacefully assemb led. DO NOT LET ANYONE CONVINCE YOU THAT THE POLICE ACTED ON THIS CROWD BECAUSE THEY WERE DISORDERLY. they entered this neighborhood for a reason unclear to anyone in this building. They fired volley after volley of tear gas canisters and that is what drew everyone out of their homes. The news stations say they are covering this, but I saw nothing except Garth Brooks looking ridiculous and singing white christmas or something. PLEASE let people know that citizens are being gassed and sprayed for standing outside in this neighborhood which is well (or was ) outside the curfew zone. This city is undermartial law whehter or not the fuckers are willing to make it official by announcement. I will let all of you know as WAIT.
