That's largely a modern conceit. Even as late as the Romantic era there
were poets arising from the 'common' herd like Elizabeth Bentley and Anna
Yearsley. Anyone serving a well-educated patron could easily acquire the
knowledge displayed in Shakespeare's work.

But there's no forensic evidence proving arsenical poisoning. He
contracted a fever and died in his sleep. Jonson wasn't silent on him as
he stated Shakespeare "never blotted a line" when he wrote. John Donne,
Francis Meres and Francis Beaumont attest to Jonson's admiration for
Shakespeare. John Aubrey also quotes Jonson on Shakespeare.
