-Caveat Lector- NOAA ?? Sheese, just a coincidence right LOL..You don't think this could actually be the cause of The Deluge do you? Peter Contingency Planners Warned About Effects Of Powerful Sun Storms -- (INTERNET WIRE) -- 12/21/99 -- Contingency planners have received strong warnings regarding the likely effects of Solar Max, the increasingly turbulent space weather that is expected to peak next month and last for three months. If there are significant power outages, computer failures or telecommunications disruptions in early 2000, they may be related to Solar Max and not the Y2K bug, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Said NOAA's director, Dr. D. James Baker, "When Solar Maximum occurs, the sun bursts at its seams with explosive power, and as it churns there is potential for electrical power outages, radio problems, and the disabling of satellites. This can disrupt communications, including broadcast transmissions and pagers." Emphatic confirmation of these warnings has come from respected, nationally-known mathematician R. Edwin Sherman, president of a risk management consulting firm with Fortune 500 clients. Sherman and his researchers have conducted extensive cryptological analysis of the 3,500-year-old Hebrew Torah. They have uncovered a very large number of statistically significant codes in a very short passage that graphically depict the same scenario detailed by the NOAA. Some of these codes potentially narrow down the time window to the Hebrew year 5760, which began in mid-September 1999, and to a point in time described by the word, "millennium," the number 2000 and various possible equivalents for "Y2K." Discovered hidden in the original language of the ancient scriptures are such unexpected words as "sun spot," "solar riot," "corona," "solar surge," "crush telecommunications," "corrupted matrix," "no electricity," "GPS" (global positioning system), "strange malfunction," "dead satellite," "instigation of power outage," "microchip" and "corrupted code." The Solar Max cluster is an intricate labyrinth of over 175 different codes. Because many codes appear numerous times IN "repeat passages," the total number of code appearances in this cluster exceeds 2,000. This may be the greatest cluster of Bible codes ever discovered. Many of these codes exactly overlap, sharing common letters. Sherman has calculated the odds against a cluster similar to the Solar Max one occurring by chance as in the range of 1 in 10 to the 100th power, or: 1 in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0 00,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 "While it is possible to find random codes about virtually anything scattered here and there throughout any text, it is extremely unusual to find so many ostensibly related codes packed together in about three pages of text," Sherman stated. "Whatever this large cluster of solar storm codes is, it is not a coincidence. When I first started investigating this code phenomenon a few years ago, I was extremely skeptical about it. However, the evidence in support of its validity is unusually compelling. A number of highly respected mathematicians have publicly stated that the phenomenon of Bible codes is worthy of serious scientific investigation." "Our analysis is the latest in a series of studies performed by mathematicians regarding the non-random occurrence of codes about related people and events of modern times," he said. The first results of such research were disclosed in 1994 in the prestigious journal Statistical Science (vol. 9, no. 3, 1994, pp. 429-438) of a paper on Bible codes by three Israeli mathematicians. The Bible codes gained international attention in 1997 with the publication of The Bible Codes, a New York Times best-selling book by former Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Drosnin. Sherman is also quick to point out that while the findings of Solar Max-related codes are "extremely interesting," serious researchers do not claim that such codes can be used to foretell future events. "They could prove useful, however, in contingency planning and in evaluating the relative odds of different scenarios." Not even the NOAA can accurately predict the intensity of the solar storms, which they say take place every 11 years. During the most recent solar cycle in 1989, "the entire province of Quebec went dark because a geomagnetic storm caused power lines to overload," according to a NOAA press release. Results of the analysis appear in the December 1999 and January 2000 issues of the monthly e-newsletter, the Bible Code Research Digest, published by the internet site, www.biblecodecritic.com. Sherman's 26 year career as a consulting mathematician has included seven years as a principal with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and authorship of more than 65 articles and papers. He has served over two dozen major insurance companies, numerous large public entities and major corporations. He received his B.A. and M.A. in Mathematics from the University of California at San Diego, where he also passed Ph.D. qualifying exams in statistics, real analysis and complex analysis before deciding to pursue a career as a consulting actuary. He is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. The formulas used in his code research have been reviewed by a professor of statistics.
