First, I'll agree that you probably are not exaggerating about how the rent-a-cops treated you, as I'll explain shortly. Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are owned by Hunt Midwest. Lamar Hunt owns much of the land just east and south of the parks as well. What lies under Worlds of Fun is not an Army command center but a commercial metroplolis that has hundreds of businesses under the limestone rock. The bluffs were originally old mines, but Lamar turned the tunnels into gold by making roads and buildings inside. They all have their own ventilation, electricity, water, etc. Take a trip eastbound on HWY 210 from I-435 to confirm what I'm saying. Each tunnel has a guard shack, but they will allow general public inside to see for yourself. As far as the vehicles go, they are new vehicles in storage from the Claycomo Ford assembly plant, located about 1 mile north of the parks. Ford and Hunt Midwest have always conducted business of storing vehicles on their grounds during the "off" months of the park. Many of the new vehicles are covered with a white "shipping" plastic to protect the hood, doors, and trunk. Claycomo Ford is notorious for assembling strictly 4WD trucks and SUV's. If you don't believe what I'm saying, I understand, but you can ask anyone from that neck of the woods and they will tell you the same. In regards to the blasting under the residential areas, that is very true. The Gracemore area is/was the hardest hit, with many reported foundations cracking and yards sliding away during rainstorms. KCTV5 did an investigation on it about 5 years ago and I think Hunt Midwest stopped blasting (they were creating more commercial areas underground). As for the rent a cops, well, they aren't trained too well, but they try. I was a cop for KCMO PD for ten years and had to deal with them regularly. They do a very good job of keeping track of their property, but that do a piss poor job of doing public relations. Heck, they're only private guards getting minimum wage, so what can you expect. Best of luck in the "monkey" court, I assumed they signed a complaint for trespassing? Feel free to tell your story to the judge, but it won't matter. Your best bet is to shell out some dough on a snake lawyer who is a KC municipal court regular, then have him work out a deal with the prosecutor. Been there too many times. Seen too many people get screwed there. I got out because the system was not fair to me or anyone.
