-Caveat Lector- <A HREF="http://www.ctrl.org/"> </A> -Cui Bono?- WJPBR Email News List [EMAIL PROTECTED] Peace at any cost is a prelude to war! As you can see, I agree with most of your comments. My complaint to you is that I wish writers, like you, who are so widely read and respected would point out that Career Level/Oriented and Entry Level are different and have different mind sets. These young girls are being allowed to get away with their antics because Senior males still believe that it is their job to "take care of" the women of the world. They are so far off base it is frustrating. When a woman signs a contract to belong to the finest military in the world she sets aside her femininity from 0730-1630 daily. She deploys when ordered, and she complies with the grooming regulations of her Service. There are no questions. If a male did not obey these orders he would be charged with Article 92 of the UCMJ. =========================================================== MEDAL OF HONOR ARTICLE 8 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A piece of education for many of us. Yes, the Coast Guard had Medal of Honor recipients. They operated Higgins landing craft and cleared sea emplaced mines among many other perilous missions. ******************************************************************** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *MUNRO, DOUGLAS ALBERT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rank and organization: Signalman First Class, U.S. Coast Guard Born: 11 October 1919, Vancouver, British Columbia. Accredited to Washington. Citation: For extraordinary heroism and conspicuous gallantry m action above and beyond the call of duty as Petty Officer in Charge of a group of 24 Higgins boats, engaged in the evacuation of a battalion of marines trapped by enemy Japanese forces at Point Cruz Guadalcanal, on 27 September 1942. After making preliminary plans for the evacuation of nearly 500 beleaguered marines, Munro, under constant strafing by enemy machineguns on the island, and at great risk of his life, daringly led 5 of his small craft toward the shore. As he closed the beach, he signaled the others to land, and then in order to draw the enemy's fire and protect the heavily loaded boats, he valiantly placed his craft with its 2 small guns as a shield between the beachhead and the Japanese. When the perilous task of evacuation was nearly completed, Munro was instantly killed by enemy fire, but his crew, 2 of whom were wounded, carried on until the last boat had loaded and cleared the beach. By his outstanding leadership, expert planning, and dauntless devotion to duty, he and his courageous comrades undoubtedly saved the lives of many who otherwise would have perished. He gallantly gave his life for his country. ============================================================= ARTICLE 9 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GI HUMOR - The Top 13 NATO Excuses for Bombing the Wrong Place ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ed.: Hmmm…most likely fact. We do make exceptions and will not turn away an 800 to 900 word piece (or even longer if you're related to Hack!). Please make every editing effort not to exceed these guidelines. If you believe you have a story that is longer than 700 words we will consider running it in parts or as a SPECIAL. Keep the piece focused on the story you want to tell, not impress upon the reader. Thanks to everyone for keeping the communication lines open and the ideas flowing. Watch your flanks - the bad guys are still out there!
