A more recent defector named Stanislav Lunev penned
Through the Eyes of the Enemy. To date, Lunev is the
highest ranking military (publicly known) defector.
The book itself, having been written years after Golitsyn's
now prophetic New Lies for Old, is not a whirlwind of yet
proven to be true prognostications; nor is it written with
the quality or depth with which Golitsyn forewarned.
When reading Lunev's account of events in Russia -- as
written by Ira Winkler, the reader feels more like they
are hearing the old stories of one's life, as told to them
by their grandpa...
Providing of course, that your grandpa
was a Russian GRU Agent trained to kill.
A book which is not very well known, Lunev's meager
testimony echoes that of his fellow Russian Anatoliy
Golitsyn, and only admits to that which Dr. Fred
Schwartz warned of in 1962: You can trust the
Communists....to be Communists.
Lunev confirms that which time has proven for
Golitsyn, and his witness belongs on your library
shelve if you are one who collects books that are
likely to be given the Montag treatment -- if the
Communists are to succeed.
