Despite Lead in Polls McCain May Quit; Blames Dixville Notch
Despite his recent surge in the polls, and the fact that his
campaign is raking in thousands of dollars per hour on the
internet, BSNN has learned that John McCain is poised to drop out
of the Republican presidential primary. While most of the nation
has focused on McCain's stunning 19 point victory in the New
Hampshire primary, the McCain campaign has been in turmoil over
his 2 vote loss to George W. Bush in the tiny hamlet of Dixville
Notch, New Hampshire.
Never before has a Republican candidate lost the vote in Dixville
Notch and won the party's nomination, a fact that is not lost on
John McCain. "I think he has come to the conclusion that it just
doesn't make sense to continue raising and spending a lot of
campaign funds and trading jabs with Bush if the outcome is
already a foregone conclusion." Said a McCain aide. "I mean, New
Hampshire as a whole may have a lousy record of picking the
eventual nominee, but those people in Dixville Notch never miss.
Never."
