Hello Tom.
A few years ago, (1995 I think), the Executive Committee
of the Republican Party of Texas passed a Resolution
which demanded that the Federal Government cancel
the "State of Emergency" which the United States has
been in since 1933.
Background info: Franklin Roosevelt asked Congress to
declare a "State of Emergency" and to give him
"Emergency War Powers" in his first Inaugural Address in 1933.
Congress immediately complied.
The State of Emergency has never been lifted.
In fact it has been kept in effect by every president since FDR.
A Senate Committee (The Grassley Committee) confirmed and
detailed this information back around 1975.
Anyway....a good question for Bush Jr. is this:
"If you are elected, will you follow through on the Resolution
made to Congress by the Republican Party of Texas, and
cancel the "State of Emergency" which is now in effect
and which has been in effect since 1933...according to your
own State Party's Resolution?"
Note: It is this State of Declared Emergency which gives
the President the power to run the country via the
infamous "Executive Orders" which Clinton so much
loves to use.
